COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Bigfoot Barleywine is a craft beer legend. Each winter, this beast of a beer appears and wreaks havoc on unsuspecting palates with its intense bittersweet flavors. This yearin honor of the 30th Anniversary of this style-bending brew were releasing a very special version of this cult classic: Aged in oak whiskey casks for nearly two years, this barrel-aged Bigfoot is incredibly complex. The assault of resinous hops has mellowed, and the influence of the wood has shifted focus toward the maltwith rich burnt-sugar flavors and notes of vanilla, toasted coconut, and raisins. Grab this elusive beast while you can, because it wont be around for long.

Palais est pais de suite versant sur un niveau alcool rchauffant. Petite amertume houblonne qui offre un lger citronn et fruit, le tout accompagne parfaitement le ct profil bois-chne fort plaisant. Served into a snifter, ABV 11.9% Deep red coloured body, clear, with almost a full finger of thick, dark beige head on top, with good retention. Aroma has malts, caramel, red fruits, alcohol, vanilla, bourbon. Taste is sweet, lots of alcohol present, red fruits, caramel, vanilla, malts, dates, bourbon. Medium body, carbonation on the high side, sticky palate. Very good.

Bottle share @ DLD 2016. Bottle from 2010. Pour is deep red/tan with no head. Aroma and flavor of metal, burnt malt, whiskey, and oak. Finish is very metallic and thin. Unfortunately it was oxidized.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber body with a small fizzy beige head. The nose is fairly restrained as far as the booziness goes, I expected a lot more. The huge hop nose of regular bigfoot is lessened quite a bit, its showing a lot more malt than hops. A rather light whiskey note and some woodiness. The flavor is quite similar to the aroma, a little more wood and bourbon than I was expecting from the nose. A rather warming finish, but I wouldnt call it hot. I think all in all I prefer the regular version actually, though even that beer I like with a few years on it. For the heftiness of this beer youd expect the mouthfeel to be a lot heavier and sticky, but its not really. Pretty enjoyable beer, but I think Ill stick to the regular version, you cant beat the classic.

On tap at Torpedo Room in Berkeley, California-USA. Dark purple vivid appearance, off-white foam. Nose: ouh! Vanilla, milk shake, macerated cherries! Mamma Mia! Mouth: mirrors the nose with a more complex chili finish. Great beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml bottle, 2015 vintage, 11.9% ABV. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours a murky brownish/ruby red color with about an inch light tan head that stayed around for a very long time. Theres also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like vanilla, bourbon, dark fruit, toffee, oak and a bit of chocolate. However, the taste isnt as nice as the aroma. Theres an unpleasant medicinal bitter flavor that luckily weakened somewhat the longer I drank it, along with some dark fruit, vanilla, bourbon, brown sugar and booziness noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, its syrupy and has a decent amount of carbonation. I didnt have any problem finishing the bottle, but I didnt like that medicinal flavor in this brew at all. At $19.99 a bottle Ill pass on this in the future at that price. Ill just stick with regular Bigfoot instead.
