Sampled at the second annual Bistro’s West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Fest: Pours a transparent bright copper bronze with a clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh piny hops and crisp oak with some toasty caramel maltiness. Starts with some semi-sweet toasty caramel malt flavor and big earthy grapefruity hops toward a drier, crisp oaky bittersweet finish. A nicely-balanced and quite drinkable brew.

Tap @ 2007 Strong Ale Fest. Poured a clear golden amber color. The aroma was lightly hopped with dry woody notes. The flavor had a malty start and a citrus middle. Dry woody finish.

PPSAF ’07. No head at all with a woody smoky aroma. Taste is sweet caramel with molasses dipped toothpicks. I’m not done with BA beers just yet.

Sampled at the PP SAF. Wood aromas came out over the typical citrus and grass hops. Flavors were nice hoppy, with notes of wood in there too. Pretty good.
