Sampled at the second annual Bistros West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Fest: Pours a transparent bright copper bronze with a clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh piny hops and crisp oak with some toasty caramel maltiness. Starts with some semi-sweet toasty caramel malt flavor and big earthy grapefruity hops toward a drier, crisp oaky bittersweet finish. A nicely-balanced and quite drinkable brew.

Overall a very well made beer. Beautiful copper color with medium white lacing. Aroma of strong hops, mild citrus and pine. Taste is of strong hops, with a faint orange taste. Smooth and warm going down.

Draft at the Bistros West Coast BA Fest, 11/10/07; Nose of oak and piney hops; copper with a small off-white head; flavor was woody with nice hop bitterness!

On draft @ Boonville Beer festival. Caramel color with an ivory head. The bubbles seem to rise in slow motion-like theyre rising through oil or something, weird. Sweet, oaky nose. Sweet candy or bubble-gum flavors, very candy-like in its flavor. Strong vanilla notes. Somewhat hoppy finish.

sampled on tap at the San Diego Strong Ale Festival Nov 2008, an event share with what seemed liked hundreds of ratebeerians and enjoyed mostly through a straw, since my face was a bloody mess of scabs and stitches. golden amber nice woodiness to go with the usual spice and hops. the hops were noticible reduced from the normal celebration, but the wooded added a nice new complexity.

Pours a deep red color with a light brown colored head. Smells of pine tree, pine needles, blossoming oak blossoms, and orange zest. Taste is delicious. Has pine tree flavors, some citrus, and other woods. Mmmm
