Black pour from bottle at globe bar. Nutty roasty and malty taste. Burnt charcoal. Very good BlackHaddock (7416) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2013
On 23rd Jan 2010 I opened and reviewed a 330ml bottle of this, pushed the notes into the bottles neck and put it in ’a safe place’. Today I was cleaning out the garage and came across the said cobwebbed bottle with it’s tasting notes (it was a 4.7% ABV brew back then).
Not the darkest Porter on earth but a respectable Ruby Red hue to it, off-white collar and wisp. Looks fine in my Westmalle chalice.
Chocolate and liquorice in the taste and aroma, toasted malts in the mix as well.
Thin bodied for a Porter, but a fine beer that I brought back from Kenya after a great holiday.

Imaena (2327) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - JAN 6, 2013
Draught and Bottle. Ok this is actually better than the Marzen which was my old favorite. The malts are well roasted and the hopping is well done. The only thing letting this down is the watery body...but in the hot equatorial summer a thin bodied beer is not a bad thing. Well done. Something to look forward to when I visit again. Bottle at Osteria Gigiri. Clear amber color, thick tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of burnt caramel and toast. Taste is sweet caramel syrup on toast. More like a bockbier.

Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear dark amber - white head. Toasted, grassy, light sweetness, light roasted notes, light red berries, coffee, light off notes.... nothing like a porter. joergen (28458) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 21, 2012
