50cl Bottle via trade with SaintMatty, thanks Matt. Black colour, off white greyish head. Aroma of coffee, leather, ash, dark malts. Flavour is light sweet, coffee, leather, malts, nuts, dry light hoppy bitter finish with some roast. Light bodied. Smell is more pronounced than the flavour, but I liked this one a lot. 0.5l bottle from Systembolaget Passagen, Stockholm, This one pours a near black body - or actually it’s black with a nice tan creamy head. The aroma has chocolate ice cream, dark malts, caramel and hints of cardboard. It has a average carbonation level and a silky and rich mouthfeel. Quite impressive for a 5 percenter actually. It’s quite dry and chalky in the flavor with tones of roasted or burned malts, lots of cold coffee, some leather hints and a light bitter finish. Not a horrible Schwarz at all, but not completely my thing. abemorsten (3652) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - NOV 27, 2011
Half litre bottle from Systembolaget Passagen Stockholm. Pours deep obsidian mahogany with a two inch thick, light brown, rocky head that leaves very little lacing as it diminishes into a decent film. Wooden, tobacco, boozy nose with some hints of dried fruits. Sweet, roasted, caramel, tobacco and wooden flavors. Medium body. Light syrupy texture. Gentle carbonation. Medium bitter and toasted finish with a dry tongue.

Bottle. Black body, huge light beige foamy head which dies after a short while. Nose is licorice, leather, coffee and hints of roasted bread. Taste is light coffee, toast and hints of leather. A bit boring and thin, but hey - what do you expect of a Schwarz? BeerSkull (1373) - SWEDEN - NOV 8, 2011
Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, sweet coffee, hops and some metal. The taste is somewhat thin and watery, with hints of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. The aftertaste is made up of burnt malt and hops. Drinkable but rather boring beer! TheJestersBeer (2430) - SWEDEN - NOV 5, 2011
Pours a very dense, dark, reddish-brown, verging on black, with a thick brown head.
The aromas signal smoothness - roasted malts, milk chocolate, cappucino rather than coffee, smoke, licorice, hops, ashes.
Dry, medium bodied, medium bitterness, lively CO2.
Roasted malt and coffee dominate the taste, chocolate, hops, licorice, ashes.
There’s an acidity, most likely from the roasted malt, that leaves the finish a bit astringent, and it feels as if a bit more body would have been great. Still quite nice and balanced. (2011-11-05) beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - NOV 2, 2011
Bottle. Pours an opague black color with some faint reddish notes and a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate with some sugary and burnt notes. Flavor follows the nose with lots of roasted malts, burnt and slightly ashy notes, chocolate, coffee and some sugary flavors. The body is medium with a fizzy lager mouthfeel. Overall a pretty solid Schwarzbier. SimonRoller (391) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 22, 2011
