Palme (4780) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 17, 2012
0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a light blurry peach-orange beer, some unfiltered particles and a small sidesticking off-white head. Light zest-yeasty on the head with a good sweetness, some melon and hay. Not extreme. It’s average carbonated and it has a soft oily texture. Flavors are dry, bitter. Light soapy with some clear fruits, and it ends really mouthdrying. A bit to mouthdrying, somewhat disturbing. 16.06.2012 Ernest (7660) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 31, 2012
Bottle (5.2% version, BB Oct 29, 2012).
Head is initially small, fizzy/frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is a lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers/honeysuckle, apricot), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of celery and aspirin.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Certainly wouldn’t call it a Vienna...not much malt in either nose or mouth, this is a hop-driven beer from start to finish, and luckily the hops are attractive to the nose and provide ample bitterness in the finish. Sadly, though, it’s a bit rough otherwise...kinda husky, vegetal, and thin-and-watery. If the BB date is a year from bottling, it is admittedly a bit old now and may be suffering from that. Mike will never give me a bottle of beer ever again. Leighton (21085) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 4, 2012
Bottle at home in London. I sourced this fella from some Systembolaget in Stockholm. The beer pours clear gold with a medium, bubbly-foamy white head. Nose is lots of biscuity, doughy malts with nips of toast and light hay. Flavor is light to medium sweet, with some melon fruit tones, mild tangy lemon and orange, lightly toasted pale malts, faint pine needles. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish with restrained bitterness, some faintly toasted pale malts, light citrusy hops, light citrus rind, mild grass linger. A very nice lager. Definitely not a vienna in my book. Decently balanced overall. Not overly sweet, with some nice, lasting hop character. Solid beer. MeadMe (1652) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - JUL 3, 2012
Have noted rated much other than top 50 or mead recently but this one was such a nice surprise. Pours nice and light. Wonderful biscuity malt aroma with notes of hops. Flavor was wonderful malt, biscuity, corn, and cereal with a wonderful mild sweetness. A good does of hops had to be used as there were strong wonderful grassy notes pushing through all that malt. It finishes with a bit of bitterness, in an other wise mildly dry finish. Really hit the spot on a hot Florida night. We need more lagers like this one. They are such wonderful beers when done right. Wish I had more. Thanks for the share Timo. Really really enjoyed this one. ClubGonzo (5668) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 25, 2012
Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a deep golden body with a small white head. Aroma is pale malts, melon and hints of red berries and biscuits. Taste is pale malts, grassy hops, dusty cardboard notes and hints of soap. Medium body and carbonation. Half-decent but no more, and quite overrated IMO.

Slightly cloudy deep golden
Little to no smell, only hints of grassy florality
No much flavour either, boring lager stuff
Light body, medium carb nazzty (1376) - Ödåkra - Helsingborg, SWEDEN - MAY 31, 2012
Does not fit in my bag. A little too rough. Sigtuna have difficulties to balance the hop bitterness in many of its potions. ephemeral8 (69) - denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Bottle. Nose was clean, not particularly exciting, except for it’s lack of offensiveness. Mouth was toasty, cleanly balanced, and perfectly unobtrusive. Not bad face was made. Although I certainly did enjoy drinking it, I can’t really get excited about this beer, except as further confirmation about the link between the hardness of water and general quality of lagers vs ales. Botella de 500ml. Vaso Lager. Saboreada en may´12. Color dorado anaranjado. Espuma blanca que crea una corona tupida con bastante buena retención. Aromas de maltas dulces. Sabor de malteado leve y paladar seco. Final amargo y agradable resina en el retrogusto. Matices de piel cítrica. Realmente una buena Lager.

Bottle 33 cl, SB. Pours clear amber with a good diminishng off white head leaving lace. Aroma is very malty and grainy, floral fruity, hoppy fruity and has some Soapy grassy tones. Flavor is soapy fruity grainy and malty in the start, more fruityness and pungent bitterness together with piny tones getting more dry towards the end still keeping the good maltyness. Finishes with a longlived bitter bite. Clean and well brewed, love the steady malty body and bitterness.
