Midvinterblot 2013. Pours very minimal brownish head that doesn’t stick around very long. Has a black appearance with a bit of highlights. Weak lacing. Aromas are dark fruits, raisins and plums as well as resin and spice hops. Alcohol is fairly noticeable. Flavours are dark roasted malts, more dark fruits, plums, earthy and resin hops. Has a slick and oily mouthfeel and leaves a warming sensation on the palate. Pretty good stuff and well balanced.

Keg @ Akkurat, vintage 2012. Very dark with a beige mid-size head, some lacing. Roasted chocolate nose, red berries and molasses. Full-bodied, soft carbonation, velvety mouthfeel. Roasted and sweet taste, creamy dark chocolate, berries, cocoa and molasses. Roasted finish with ash and chalk.

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light coffee grind, light peated notes, light and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of dark fruits, molasses, light soy notes, alcohol warmth, very nice.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2015 2015/05/08 - Pours a dark brown cola colour with a thin, khaki head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is sweet; molasses, brown sugar, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and hints of licorice. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, coffee and spices. Mouthfeel is chewy and thick with average carbonation and a dry, warming (slightly boozy) finish. Finish is a little medicinal. Pretty good brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
