(Bottle). Fresh and delicious aroma of roasted coffee and dark chocolate with hints of smoke, fruits, orange and hops. Dry and sweet taste of coffee, roasted malt and dark chocolate with a distinct but quite soft hops bitterness in the finish. I like the dry tone from the oats. The alcohol of 8% is well hidden. A nice and tasty beer! And extremely much more enjoyable than the 2011 version!
Bottle. Dry porter sitt notes of coffee beans, dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla and liqour. EerieDrinks (355) - Malm, SWEDEN - NOV 12, 2017
3 finger beige head.
Very dark brown coloured beer.AleRider78 (1500) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 22, 2017
Aroma is coffee, banana bread, slight cinnamon, slight cardamom and toffee.
Taste is coffee, aniseed, clove, slight cinnamon, banana bread and toffee.
Mouthfeel is rather thin with a high carbonation. Low bitterness. Slightly oily and quite sticky.
Overall: An Imperial Porter filled with Christmas spices and a big note of banana bread. I really don't like neither of those things. Still, this manages to be an OK brew but not something I would pick up again. If you're a fan of said things, give it a go!
Midvinterblot 2013. Pours very minimal brownish head that doesn’t stick around very long. Has a black appearance with a bit of highlights. Weak lacing. Aromas are dark fruits, raisins and plums as well as resin and spice hops. Alcohol is fairly noticeable. Flavours are dark roasted malts, more dark fruits, plums, earthy and resin hops. Has a slick and oily mouthfeel and leaves a warming sensation on the palate. Pretty good stuff and well balanced. Turtles (3088) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 14, 2016
