3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours basically black with one thumb of light tan frothy head. Aroma a good balance between roasted malt / coffee and citrus hops. Slightly floral, but funnily, given the description, I can’t pick out any chocolate. Taste is more towards the chocolatey side with an initial sweetness that is quickly balanced up by a thick, dark chocolate bitterness. It’s not wildly bitter, however, more gentle, and the finish is slight but lingering. Body is light yet creamy. A decent attempt at this very hard style.
Pours almost black with an insanely huge frothy mocha head that very slowly settles. Aroma is vanilla, honey, coffee, citrus, brown sugar. Taste is vanilla, coffee, milk chocolate, citrus, honey. Mouthfeel is quite creamy and nicely textured.

courtesy of Per - very dark brown beer with a solid beige foam; roasted aroma of cacao and chocolate; full-bodied, velvety palate, fairly bitter and quite dry; very long chocolatey finish with hoppy notes of dark fruits Svesse (8803) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - NOV 17, 2013
(Bottle) Black colour with huge, lasting, pale brown head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with notes of coffee, liquorice, dried fruit, soy sauce, black rye bread and citric hops. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with dark chocolate, liquorice, cocoa, soy sauce, black rye bread, citrus peel and a generous citric bitterness. Quite powerful and very tasty black IPA. Very nice.

It’s black with a creamy nougat head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits, ashes. The sweet flavor is soft (lovely mouth feel) and yet pleasantly bitter with notes of roasted malt, licorice, fruity hops, dark fruit, dark chocolate, a touch of ashes, and the finish is slightly roasted, dry and bitter. Really lovely black IPA. armando629 (2456) - Budapest, HUNGARY - SEP 29, 2013

This beer rocks! Huuuge beige head tha does not allow me to pour out all the beer...really deep brown-black appearance with this beige foam-sculpture on the surface. I have to be calm, calm and calm! Fine fruity aroma allure me but i have to be calm....Let’s pour out the whole bottle with all the sediment. After a succesfull action the fruity aroma opens. Blackcurrant, some wild-berries are mixed with pine and resin, molasses and cocoa, dark chocolate. After a slip the taste bomb explodes. Full, fine and creamy mouthfeel brings a balanced palate with a fine carbonation. Fruits with dark chocolate, berries with molasses, vanilla with tobacco, ash and smoke with pine and resin - that rules the aftertaste. Awesome, good, fine. Yumm, give me some more bottles, please!
Bottled (thanks to mom & dad, shared with Kimi). Very deep rubyish copper colour, close to black, with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, citrus, fruits, some ripe fuits, resin and mild spruce as well. Flavour is quite much bitter fruits with some floral and mild toasted notes as well. Also shows alcohol in the flavour, yet it’s very nicely balanced. Patrik (924) - Amarillo City, - MAY 30, 2013
Mycket välbalanserad Black IPA. Rejält med fräscha amerikanska Humletoner. Tydlig choklad smak med lite espresso. Ganska torr. Jippi bra jobbat Bästa svenska black IPA . JorisPPattyn (10072) - BELGIUM - APR 1, 2013
Towering, beige, dense irregular head, very slowly collapsing over practically black beer. Chocolate, dry hopbales, and also quite distinctly thyme and a hint at rosemary. Bitter-roasted-burnt, if nowhere ’over the top’ - very pleasing. Black chocolate with roast - ashes. Suddenly a new flavour which is quite kafir lime(leaf) like. Well-bodied, if not really thick. Gristslickness, even a bit dusty. Surprising - in the good way! Many thanks to Stef!
