([email protected], Tallinn) Clear amber color with a large, slightly tanned head. Very strong rotten eggs aroma with some caramely maltiness (do they wash the taps at all?). Fruity, burned sugar flavor with marshmellows. Light to medium-bodied, slightly sharp-carbonated and sticky-sugary palate. A quite disgusting brew - at least from this tap.

Tap @ Drink Baar. Appearance is amber-red with light tan head. The head doesn’t stay. The aroma is strong caramel, malt and grass. Taste is caramel, malt, very sweet. Finish is very mild bitter. Overall: not bad, but also not special.

suurjuust (3504) - ESTONIA - JUL 17, 2012
Red-tinged amber, off-white creamy head. Nose has lots of caramel sweetness, malt and metallic notes. Taste is fairly sweet, malty caramel more metallic notes. Body is medium to thin, mouthfeel is fairly smooth. Slightly flawed, but very drinkable.

Draught @ Drink Baar, Tallinn. Darker amber coloured beer with lots of carbonation and a small to medium dencer off white head. Sweet malty hinted aroma with a short fruity touch. Full palate. Finish is sweet malty, slightly oxidated. Ok, but not to special.

Draught at the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/estonia/ target=blank>Õlletorn in Tallinn, Estonia. Orange-amber in colour, long lasting white head, some lacing. The aroma is of sweet malts, cookies, caramel, earthy, nutty. The flavour has traces of citrus, earthy and quite malts, some caramel, light sweetness. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with a light bitterness, yeasty. Interesting beer, the setting really seemed to help this one. Balanced, not boring. I seemed to like this one more then the others.

Nocturne (1973) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2014
Tap at Drink Baar, Tallinn. Clear amber shade with a ring of head. Light gingery spice in the aroma. Taste is caramelly, malty, bready. There’s a dryness to it that helps drinkability. Body is notably robust even for the strength. Compares favourably to the Ayinger Oktoberfest I just had.

Kauge (1899) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 17, 2014
Tap at Põrgu in Tallinn (€ 2,50 for 33 cl), August 2014. Clear dark amber / light mahagony, off-white small head - no lacing, doesn’t stay for long. Looks great against candlelight. Nose is candy-like, almost artificial caramel, killing off everything else; gets more malty later, something ashy too. Taste is caramelly, malty-grainy, with a very slight metallic aftertaste, and a modest spicy tingle. Light to medium body, mild carbonation; sticky, even syrupy palate. A slightly bitter, grainy and sugary, dry finish. Would not believe it to be 6,2 % ABV. Quite tasty.
