3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: oak, vanilla, chocolate, roastiness. Appearance: thick dark black/brown, tan head disspates quickly to ring. Taste: nice roast bitterness, coffee, rich but not overly sweet. Palate: soft carb, thick/slick, but not sticky, full-bodied. Nice lasting finish. Overall: solid imperial stout. I like what silver city does.

Poured from bomber from tavour. Nice head. Aroma of roasted barley. Flavor has slight coffee and chocolate notes. Very much like a Russian imperial stout. Thick sticky finish that lingers. CheersMate (1343) - Portland (Sellhood), Oregon, USA - JAN 14, 2016
22 oz. bottle from the Northgate Total Wine. Seems like they’ve come out with new labels for most, if not all, of their beers. The 1st thing I smell, when I smell this beer, is Great Divide’s Yeti. In fact, looking at a lot of the Yeti clone recipes, I see similar ingredients. I’d imagine that the recipes are close, hence the very curious similarities between the two beers in all attributes. The aroma is quite pungent, and great smelling: roast, hints of ash, chocolate, licorice, pine, and syrup. The flavor is much the same, as the aforementioned. There’s a bit of a pronounced piny bitterness at first, but then it settles to a nice sweet chocolate roast flavor. There’s a lingering bitterness that holds, but it blends well with the sweetness to balance it all out. Where I think Yeti wins, however, is the texture. The texture here isn’t that of Yeti’s, and I prefer Yet’s texture a little more. The pour isn’t as inky, either, but this is still a solid, roast-forward imperial stout. Good stuff. Black pour with a tall, very dark head. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, a bit of earth, and some hot booze. Full bodied with a mostly smooth, but slightly carbonated body. Finishes slightly molasses sweet with a bit of bittersweet chocolate and booze. Pretty solid Impy stout. nealblind (1977) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - JUL 7, 2015

Black color with generous brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, not too strong. Good body, lean, the mouthfeel is rather dry among Imperial Stouts; good flavor of roasted malt with a hint of dark chocolate, a bit more roasty and ashy in the final; good alcohol management.
Nothing impressive, but well balanced, bold, highly drinkable.
A nice fruity barleywine. Pours a bright red with a thick tan head. Smells of bright fruit and malts. Taste is creamy and very smooth, with strawberry, cherry and a watermelon jolly rancher finish. Had in the bottle. BeerFunGuy (874) - California, USA - FEB 26, 2015
Pours a rich deep ebony color with a short lived dark brown head. It has a mild aroma of coffee. It has a roasted flavor with a little bite but remains very drinkable. This one could be dangerous. But hey danger is my middle name. Love it. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - FEB 11, 2015
Bottle. Pours a near black color with a moderate brown head on there. Nose is roasty and a bit sour like with a bit of licorice. Taste is a bit sweet and a little roasty, but has a bitter finish. I like it, as I like the style, but it’s nothing all that special. jsnicholas (681) - Woodinville, Washington, USA - FEB 6, 2015

Draft at Uber, Seattle. Chocolatey brown. Smoky. Clean tasty flavor. Balanced for an imp stout, roasty. Not a standout but a real solid drinker
