Amber-brown, bright. No head. The aroma is a mess, hot phenolic silliness, with a bubblegum, paint thinner aroma, with a hit of vanilla. Very sweet on the palate. A lot of vanilla and birch beer...some brown sugar. Maybe a hint of orange rind. 500ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours a clear indian red colour with almost no head. Nose is filled with bourbon and barrel. Dark amber color, clean, with small head. Very nice aroma, fudge, bourbon, light smoke. Nice malt base, not too sweet, luscious caramel, bourbon, a bit boozy, but not much follow-through in the final.
500mL bottle, pours a dark amber caramel brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is deep, with lush bourbon barrels notes, some smokey whiskey, caramel and a little brown sugar. Flavour follows accordingly, with notes of bourbon, caramel, a touch of smokiness, and brown sugar. Rich, bourbony and not too sweet. Lovely stuff.

500ml bottle, into a tulip glass. Pours clear thin reddish brown, almost no head. Aroma is big syrupy sweet molasses, dark caramel, vanilla, cola, bourbon. Heavy sweetness. Taste is similar - same flavor profile, a bit less sweet here, creamy body, oaky dry finish. An odd beer. Tons of complexity and rich flavors. A cherry wood flavor with a slight smoked note comes out after a bit. Thinner than I’d expect for both the style and the abv here. Plenty boozy though not much barrel character. Bottle:   Deep amber, caramel hues, small foamy light beige head, little lacing.   Bourbony nose, malty, sweet breadiness, caramel, slight dark pitted fruit on the nose.   Sweet caramel and bourbon up front, graham cracker, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, breadiness, and just a whole bunch of goodness.   Warming, body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Better than expected.   Smooth finish.   Underlying beer is a bit overshadowed, but it still works.   Nice brew! luttonm (6854) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 16, 2016

500mL capped bottle shared by Andrew. This is what I call a whiskey scented malt beer. It’s sweet malts ,tea malts, and definitely barrel aged. It’s not over the top or offensive. Bottle pour, 2014 vintage. Pours a clear ruby copper color with a foam head. Aroma with rough wine and oak. Super sweet. Flavor is smooth mostly. Vanilla, rye and oak up front. Sweet vanilla, sugar linger late. Too much sweet. Too much caramel. Too much whiskey. Too much barrel. Dry finish. Not bad, but everything was turned to volume 11.
