COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Dark Strong Ale is rich in big malt character, candy like sweetness, and warming alcohol. Suggestions of chocolate and dried fruits pair well with oak and vinous notes from extended aging in Tempranillo wine barrels.

500 ml bottle poured into a snifter. The beer is a clear brown with a thin beige head of foam. Funky, dry, and vinous. Toasty, oaky, dry wine. Moderately spicy. Big body and moderate carbonation. The port wine character is captured well in this beer.

Pours a near black from a bottle, khaki head. Fig and dried currant, perhaps, mingled with a bit of dark chocolate once in the mouth. Good beer.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a dark ruby with off white head. Aroma is sweet with some dark fruits. Taste is moderate to heavily sweet with a mild alcohol burn finish. Flavors of caramel, figs, toffee, plums, prunes, maple syrup. Overall a nice Belgian strong. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark with a white fizzy head. Powerful dark fruits, chocolate, ripe fruit, caramel malts and sugary sweetness, nice warm booze in the finish. Lingering sweet fruit and booze in the finish. The complex aroma falls apart slightly in the flavor. Very enjoyable.

A malty, dark, strong ale in the Belgian style of brewing. This beer is full flavored with rich notes of black cherry, warm caramel and a mild coffee character.

IndianaRed (5030) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 7, 2016
On Tap at the Bremerton Brewery-Taproom Deep dark brown witha faint quickly receding coarse off white head. Not much aroma. Faint dark fruit and light toasted malts. Some dark candi sugar flavors and a little of the wine barrel slant. Nice and balanced and smooth.

Sample at Hoof Hearted during the Dragonsaddle Triple IPA Can Release on 11/15/2015. The beer is a dark brown color with some amber around the edges, and a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Fruit, yeast and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of earthy yeast, dark fruit and grainy malt. The finish is vine fruits with a short yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

A good Belgian, quite fruity. Pours a deep maroon with a tan head. Smells of fruit, plums and cherries. Taste is strong and fruity, more plums, strawberries and a malty finish. Had in the bottle.

On tap at Silver City, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, dark fruits and alcohol. Flavour is heavy sweet and boozy, with dark fruits, alcohol, Belgian yeast and medium-high sweetness. Decent for an American attempt at a Belgian strong, but not very complex or refined. Okay.
