For all purposes, this brew is black and sporting a deep caramel head. Smooth roastyness slips off the glass in cool fragrant pools. Tightly wound flavors reward you for staying with them in focused concentration. They finally seep through in waves of chocolate, fig, cherry juice.
Tasted from bottle. Pours a dark ruby with off white head. Aroma is sweet with some dark fruits. Taste is moderate to heavily sweet with a mild alcohol burn finish. Flavors of caramel, figs, toffee, plums, prunes, maple syrup. Overall a nice Belgian strong.

Dark with a white fizzy head. Powerful dark fruits, chocolate, ripe fruit, caramel malts and sugary sweetness, nice warm booze in the finish. Lingering sweet fruit and booze in the finish. The complex aroma falls apart slightly in the flavor. Very enjoyable. TravelersNotes (10) - - AUG 8, 2016
A malty, dark, strong ale in the Belgian style of brewing. This beer is full flavored with rich notes of black cherry, warm caramel and a mild coffee character. IndianaRed (4541) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 7, 2016
On Tap at the Bremerton Brewery-Taproom Deep dark brown witha faint quickly receding coarse off white head. Not much aroma. Faint dark fruit and light toasted malts. Some dark candi sugar flavors and a little of the wine barrel slant. Nice and balanced and smooth. Dogbrick (12912) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 20, 2015
Sample at Hoof Hearted during the Dragonsaddle Triple IPA Can Release on 11/15/2015. The beer is a dark brown color with some amber around the edges, and a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Fruit, yeast and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of earthy yeast, dark fruit and grainy malt. The finish is vine fruits with a short yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

A good Belgian, quite fruity. Pours a deep maroon with a tan head. Smells of fruit, plums and cherries. Taste is strong and fruity, more plums, strawberries and a malty finish. Had in the bottle. SHIG (4956) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - SEP 18, 2015
Bottle: Poured a dark brown with a orange hint. Strong dark fruit aroma. Nice leafy and dark raisin plum fruit. mcberko (17178) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 30, 2015
On tap at Silver City, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, dark fruits and alcohol. Flavour is heavy sweet and boozy, with dark fruits, alcohol, Belgian yeast and medium-high sweetness. Decent for an American attempt at a Belgian strong, but not very complex or refined. Okay. Draft - Dark fruit and some toast. Deep brown with a beige head. Dark boozy fruit, raisin, prune and molasses. Very fruity, but not very good. fiulijn (20372) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 28, 2014
Draught at Malt & Vine, Redmond, 9.9% ABV
Dark brown color with creamy head. The aroma is a bit yeasty and ashy. Good body strength, sweet, with strong caramel flavor, and correct bitterness.
Straight-forward beer, but good.
