12/13/08. On tap at Silver Creek Brewpub. Served a little too chilled in a snifter, so I had an Oktoberfest to kill the time until this one warmed up a bit. And when it did warm up, I was blown away by it. Dark brown with a slowly dissipating tan head. Aroma of roasted and dark and roasted malt, fruit, chocolate and sugar. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, plum/cherry, wood, caramel, sugar and light coffee. It seems every time I have a Baltic Porter I am in for something different and this one was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and would (will) make the half hour trip to Cedarburg again in the near future.

Nutty, rounded flavors, complemented by fruity notes. Chewy palate with a bit of sourness. I’m not 100% sure of the condition of it. Growler from Skyview. JK (6095) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - MAR 22, 2009
Very smooth on the palate. Moderately roasted malt. Thin palate and not a lot of flavor. It is a little sour, but I’m not sure if that was intentional or not. MatSciGuy (907) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 15, 2009
[Growler] shared at Skyview’s Lex/Larp Cellars Farewell. Pours a clear brown with no head. Aroma is roasted malts and caramel. Flavor is a bit thin, some sour/tartness, and cherry. badgerben (5124) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAR 2, 2009
Growler courtesy of Skyview. Black color with no head. Lots of malt, roast and light chocolate aroma. Some salt as well. A strong malt bitterness flavor up front. A little sourness and tang. Chocolate as well.

On draught at the brewpub in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. From snifter glass pours an opaque dark brown with a thick tan head that slowly dissipates to a thin creamy tan head with excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted dark malt, some prunes and a touch of allspice. Taste is full bodied, some extra alcohol kick, toasted dark malt, chocolate and some mild bitterness. Finish has a slight metallic aftertaste with some alcohol warmth and toasted dark malt flavor. Ofortuna (322) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 26, 2007
From my backlog of notes. Served on tap from the brewery. Served in a snifter glass and a bit colder than I would’ve liked. Some nice aromas of chocolate and plums with a bit of hop presence noted once it warms up. Good use of specialty malt to give a hefty roastedness to the flavour. Good viscosity and a slight pleasant warming character as it goes down. Wish the body was just a little more, but overall a very good imperial porter and deserving of a try when this is made available again. After talking with the bartender, they would like to make this appear seasonally.
