Keg at the brewery, 9/2/16. Hazy dark brown, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast, mint, earth, chocolate. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, soy. Thin. crossovert (13413) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 28, 2016
Draft. Not the abv listed. It is harsh, fusel alcohols, soy, chocolate, coffee, not a fan. hopdog (12816) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2006
On tap at the Silver Creek Brew Pub. Poured a dark black with a large sized tan head. Aromas of licorice, dark fruits, chocolate, and light roast. Tastes of licorice, raisins, and chocolate. Very light coffee finish - overall this Porter was on the sweeter side. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

black, fine tan head,
strong dry dark chocolate aroma,
rich chocolate flavor, sweet caramel brings out the rich chocolate, just a hint of roasted offers some balance,
Aroma: 7/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 8/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 16/20
Thanks to Blake for bringing the growler! Poured very deep brown, almost black, with a nice initial cap of yellowy-beige head.. left a light ring after a couple minutes. The aroma picked up lots of deeply-roasted dark chocolate and dark fruits.. a subtle smoke accent worked very well. The flavor picked up well-roasted darker fruits and semi-sweet chocolate at the core, with some cocoa powder hitting on the back-end.. mild sourness as well back there.. good stuff! Medium-bodied with a creamy malt backing and bitter coffee accents.. lots of fruity notes in there.. I very much enjoyed it!

On tap at the brewpub on 6/21/07: Pours a mostly opaque with dark mahogany edges and a small, creamy tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and milk chocolate with a hint of smoke. Body starts with a rich dark caramel viscosity and good mild plum complexity toward a lingering bittersweet roasty dark chocolate finish. A nice Baltic porter. THX Kevin for bringing the growler: Deep brown hue with a small fizzy but lasting head. The aroma has notes of roasted and chocolate malt, some smoke, plum, and a rubbery off-aroma. The taste starts with rich milk chocolate and nutty character with a bit of ripe fruit. The finish is roasty and displays some coffee notes. The feel is dry and smooth. A pretty good beer that I was not expecting much from. nuplastikk (6361) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 28, 2012
Huge snifter pour. Pitch black, big beige head. Baltic Porter? ( yep ). Big and sugary sweet, certainly not classical. Off chalky bandaid and chocolate aroma. Big, enjoyable, but just a touch off. Some vanilla tones. A little odd, cant put my finger on it. Still pretty decent. Some coffee tones. JPDIPSO (6257) - Wauwatosa, USA - SEP 20, 2006
Near black color with a small light tan head. Interesting aromas of pears and light toasted malts. A rather typical flavor profile with cocoa and dark toasted to roasted malt. A decent porter. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JUL 23, 2007
Sampled on draught at the brewpub in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick and creamy off-white head that slowly dissolves to a fine film and ring. Aroma of light roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and some flowery/grassy hops. Taste is heavy (full bodied), sweet with very little carbonation, with dark chocolate and molasses flavors. Finish is smooth, creamy with a slight dark malt flavor.
