Pours to a dark brown/black body with a dense bubble-spotted tan head. The flavor is pretty tasty. Chocolate, roasty malts, dark fruits, really deep roasty black patent. Draft at the source. Deep brown-black pour with tan head. Aroma is gentle roasted malt with some decent dark fruit esters, caramel, and nutty toasted malt. Flavor is a clean chocolate roast with more caramel and nutty toasted biscuit. Trail of faint dark fruit. Lingering clean, coffee-type roasted malt. On tap at the Silver Creek Brew Pub. Poured a dark black with a large sized tan head. Aromas of licorice, dark fruits, chocolate, and light roast. Tastes of licorice, raisins, and chocolate. Very light coffee finish - overall this Porter was on the sweeter side.

THX Kevin for bringing the growler: Deep brown hue with a small fizzy but lasting head. The aroma has notes of roasted and chocolate malt, some smoke, plum, and a rubbery off-aroma. The taste starts with rich milk chocolate and nutty character with a bit of ripe fruit. The finish is roasty and displays some coffee notes. The feel is dry and smooth. Thanks to Blake for bringing the growler! Poured very deep brown, almost black, with a nice initial cap of yellowy-beige head.. left a light ring after a couple minutes. The aroma picked up lots of deeply-roasted dark chocolate and dark fruits.. a subtle smoke accent worked very well. The flavor picked up well-roasted darker fruits and semi-sweet chocolate at the core, with some cocoa powder hitting on the back-end.. mild sourness as well back there.. good stuff! Huge snifter pour. Pitch black, big beige head. Baltic Porter? ( yep ). Big and sugary sweet, certainly not classical. Off chalky bandaid and chocolate aroma. Big, enjoyable, but just a touch off. I’d had this beer last year at a festival, and I’d been wanting to visit Silver Creek ever since. The brewpub is very cool, and this beer is quite unique, offering a lot of bourbon character in place of the rich roastiness most commonly found in this style.
It was served in a brandy glass or tulip and was opaque with an inviting tan head. Presentation was very wine-like. Smell was rather bourbon-y. Flavor was a bourbon and oak flavor. It was good, but wasn’t the quite dry roastiness I’ve come to associate with better porters. Mouthfeel is that of large and uneven bubbles. It is quite unusual, but I didn’t love it.

Near black color with a small light tan head. Interesting aromas of pears and light toasted malts. A rather typical flavor profile with cocoa and dark toasted to roasted malt. A decent porter.
