12 oz. bottle, consumed in week two of February 2017 (I forgot to record the date). Pours a medium brown, light in color for the style. Reddish hue. Excessive amount of taupe head. Good, thick lacing. Nice shade of head and liquid, but there is too much head. Mineral, woody, chocolatey smell. A bit of tar and a lot of metal in aroma. Dry, dusty flavor. Dryer flavor than smell suggests. Metallic finish. Light to medium body. Slightly undercarbonated. Actually slightly more interesting than most porters but flawed and poorly made. tia (2160) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - SEP 21, 2016
Sampled at brewery. Dark auburn. Sweet and roasty aroma. Sweet, roasty, with a dry finish. HopTsing (575) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - SEP 14, 2016
From the tap at the brewery poured a brow brew with a brownish head. Looks, smells and taste like a brown ale. pbzbo (11) - - DEC 21, 2015
Nice creamy head on tap at ANC airport. Dark Ruby color. Strong cascade aroma. Minerally, metallic taste, a bit thin. Bitter chocolate, dark roast, dark fruit.

Cola body, but flat. Rich roasty nose that incorporates some chocolaty segments. Roasty black patent infused body with dregs of tar, and rather thin on the mouthfeel. Some vegetal notes emerge on the finish.

Bottle. Thanks to my brother for bringing home from AK. Firm cola black pour, odd mild soap head. Cola grain and roast. Sweet, metallic body with some deep roast. Light body, lacks refinement but flavor isn’t bad. Ernest (7669) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 19, 2015
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (cocoa powder, burnt grain), with notes of anise, gum, chalk, and clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky, chalky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Weird nose that’s mostly crappy cocoa powder, but with a weird Dunkelweizen slant that’s very uncharacteristic of the style and just plain smells off. Three strikes for Silver Gulch. MrTipple (4803) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2015
Aroma: toasted malts, light coffee, some chocolate, charcoal. Appearance: hazy, dark brown, hardly any head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: intense toasted malts, some bitters coming up, soft carbonation, medium body. Overall: nice Porter, nice aroma and palate. Bottle from Silver Gulch Airport, Anchorage. Dark mahogany with a medium sized beige head, lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and caramel. Taste of toasted malts, caramel and dark fruit
Bottle purchased at anchorage airport. Deep redish brown, skiff of cream colored head. Aroma is yeast and a bit of wet dog, but rich, dark fruits under, and toasted barley. Flavor is toasted barley, dark fruit, a bit of iron, with a little sweet. Finish is slightly bitter, coffee like. Palate is thin, but it’s just an everyday Porter, and as such very drinkable. Carbonation is a bit sharp for style.
