Tap @ The BeerMongers during Brewpublic’s Killer Beers of Central Oregon event... Poured dark black with a bubbly tan head. Ashy, charred toasted grains with some sweetness. Toasted, roasted malt, anise, and some coffee while a nice yeast presence balanced it all. A little bit of hops added some bitterness too. ansermadide (1526) - Kyle, Texas, USA - SEP 19, 2010
Sampled at the Great American Beer Festival on September 17, 2010. This is actually a notably very pretty, shiny black color with a light brown head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt. Flavor is… wow… flavor is a surprise. Dry, much like bitter dark chocolate. Kind of fumy roasted malt.
