Great porter! I see why it won gold. Really clean a flavorful. Big roasty and extra dark. Smooth and ultra drinkable. One of the best I have ever had. Smoky peat. fuzzman349 (1) - Dallas, Oregon, USA - OCT 17, 2012 does not count
Great Beer! Tried it for the first time last night at Venti’s in Salem, OR. Looks like a dark porter, but comes across as a light one. Cybercat (5838) - Georgia, USA - AUG 2, 2011
Comes out of the bottle a barely translucent warm sable brown with a substantial, if not too persistent, fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma is smoky and has components of brown sugar and quality coffee. Lip-smacking flavor has tones of quality coffee, molasses, caramel and semi-sweet chocolate plus a hint of licorice. Texture is smooth, a little thick, and just a little fizzy. Definitely worthy, especially if you favor porters. BlackEyePA (573) - USA - JUL 6, 2012
Really awesome. Such a nice blend of creamy, smooth, rich, balanced malt/hop and mouthfeel, with a kiss of smoke. Overall really well made and I like the lil smoke and it doesnt ruin the palate pleasure. Good job kathouse (1893) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - MAY 27, 2012
From the brewery tap, pours a nice black with brown edges. Head is thick and is darker than most porters. Roasted nose, coffee, and chocolate make a good combination with some hop aroma noticeable. Big dry roasted flavor, black malts, and chocolate. Good beer.

From a bottle. I thought this was an excellent well balanced Porter, highly recommended. gregwilsonstl (2504) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Smells like chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Im surprised at how low alcohol. Nice porter. andrewje41 (3891) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - NOV 16, 2014
Draft pour at the silver leaf. Pours a cola black with a huge foamy tan head. Mild coffee roast and malt aroma. With a name like snake bite, I expected it to have a bite too it but this beer is so smooth. A bit of a dessert beer. Sweet vanilla and chocolate flavors with a sweeter finish. Overall, a really tasty porter. Really enjoyed this. bhensonb (15208) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 16, 2010
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours black with a large foamy tan head. Aromas of chocolate and coffee. Med body. Flavor is slightly sweet, definitely has some coffee type bitter. I’d say the IBU understates. Not getting a lot of chocolate. In a way it’s a low impact taste. But there’s a lot of coffee and burnt malt. Goes down really easily. Try it. You won’t regret it. when cold it has a lightly sweet and milky nose. the balance of roast, bitterness and chocolate is quite sublime. with its slik texture and relaxed carbonation it does very well. very surprised by this.
