The deep red color gives you a hint of this ale’s full flavor. Its rich maltiness comes from Crystal and Vienna malts. Golding and Cascade hops give it a subtle, bitter finish. Caution: at 8% alcohol, this beer’s got horsepower!

On tap @ Silver Peak. Dark amber colored beer with off-white foam. A lot of toast, bread, and caramel. Some soda water, too. Actually a touch of chocolate and cola. Okay. Slight nuttiness. The flavor is big on caramel and chocolate. Kind of nutty. A bit of cola on the back end as well. Typical garbage brewpub amber ale.

On tap @ Silver Peak poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of light carmel and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel and fruitiness with a crisp lightly bitter finish.

A reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. In mouth, a buttery red ale, with cloying notes of diacetyl. Same in aroma. Not my style. On tap at brewpub, August 2007.

"probably their most popular beer A) because it’s a malt bomb, so macro beer drinkers that are afraid of hops will love it, and B) it’s 8 freakin percent, so frat boys looking to get drunk quicker like it. That being said, even though I love my hops, this is a pretty stinkin good beer. Unbalanced, yes, but the flavor, mouthfeel, and aroma or all carmely, malty good! the best of their regular rotation."

Draft @ Silver Peak. Pours clear amber in color with a small off white head that leaves sporadic lacing. The aroma is mild caramel, pale malts with a moderate hops. The flavor opened with mild sweetness. Caramel dipped bread, mild to moderate hop bitterness, somewhat dry. Decent.

A sweet caramel aroma. Quite nice. Caramel comes through in all stages of this. A pleasant sweet-hop finish. One of their betters in this 11-sampler!!
