GABF 2010. POurs a nice deep dark brown almost black and a nice head. Aroma is nutty light roast and chocolate with big pine and grapefruity citrus hops- slight resin. Flavor is sappy, pine minty hops over big black dark chocolate malts, light roast, some nuts, medium sweetness in the middle, then dries out to reveal some more resinous hop bitterness. Pretty good, but nothing outstanding. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - DEC 9, 2010

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2014 a solid, if unspectacular, interpretation of the black ipa style. pours dark brown, almost black. has a bright very lively juicy hop dominated aroma with undertones of roasted malt and chocolate. the flavor is more a straight mix of the two, and is good, but not quite as lively. feel is medium bodied and smooth. well balanced.
