On tap at Cest What?:
Aroma: dry roast , clean with decent roast , some balk tea. Tad too estery for lager. 6+HogTownHarry (6925) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - OCT 27, 2012
Apperance: dark brownish-black. Lighter white top. Rather flat looking. 3-
Taste/Palate etc. Medium bodied. Strong coffee like roast feel , semi dry. Softer follow-up. There is some of Schwartz in this beer , yet tad to soft on sides with its creamy walls.
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2012 September 14, 2012 - at Volo on draught. Clear ruby-black with a decent fizzy/foamy beige head. Odd aroma of stale coffee and grapeskins, some herbal bitterness, not much alcohol presence - taste follows, a bit fruitier and less dry roast, the coffee character seems less acidic. Average body, decent carbonation, finishes fairly quickly, dry, with re-emerging slightly sour coffee notes overwhelming any grape/prune fruitiness - did not seem to have enough balancing bitterness, to my palate. dwyerpg (6187) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAR 21, 2013
A light roasty aroma, nice opaque appearance. The beer has a slight metallic flavor to it, to go with the roast and the traces of coffee. The finish is also not quite right. Looks and smells much better than it tastes. Still, thanks to the wifey for bringing this back from her vacation. tom10101 (6087) - Quebec, CANADA - JUL 3, 2014
Bottle (650 ml). BB 31-09-2014. Thanks to Andrew for this one! Black with a medium brown head and some lacing. Aroma is mild with roasted malt, liquorice and hints of dark fruits. Taste is also light with liquorice, roasted malt, dark fruits and gentle cocoa finish. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Slightly silky mouthfeel. Short aftertaste. Nothing is "off" and it’s quite drinkable. A little more body could help, but it’s an interested Schwarzbier. robinvboyer (4677) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 2, 2015
Black pour, beige head. Sweet roast aroma, milk chocolate, light hops. Good mouth feel, silky, soft carb. Sweet roasty finish, light bitterness, very easy drinking.

On tap at the Only Cafe. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty malt and nuts. Flavour is moderately roasty dark malt and a decent nuttiness. Medium body. Ok. jb (3254) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 17, 2016
On tap at the keg. Really well done and enjoyable. A true schwarzbier. Plenty of toasted malt quite crisp and palate is a touch smoky. Nice. Quevillon (3096) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 3, 2015
650 ml bottle bought at the brewery on June 25, 2015. Black, small head. Dry coffee malt aroma, lightly hoppy. The taste is more bitter sweet, light roasted coffee with some fruitiness, light bitterness. Very respectable flagship beer! TheJester (2542) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2013
Pint on tap at The Griffin in Bracebridge. Black, with a small brown head. Certainly a big aroma for a lager, with lots of roast. The same can be said of the flavour, where cocoa powder joins the roast. Light sweetness. Great body for the style. Probably the best schwartzbier I’ve tied. Keg at loose moose Toronto. Dark reddy brown colour. Pleasant roasty sweet aroma. It's decent - caramel, roast malts, some fruit, a touch of coffee but still fairly light. Nice.
