Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen. kevinsenn (2209) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 22, 2016
On tap at brewpub. Surprisingly rich chocolate and coffee aroma with some lager crispness. Smooth and mild taste if creamy chocolate malts. Pretty tasty! jksipa (940) - Newmarket, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 14, 2016
Bottle from the brewery. Dark mahogany pour under a small tan head that fades quickly to a sheet and leaves some sparse lace.Nose is roasted malts, chocolate, molasses, light coffee, a touch of vanilla and hints of dark fruit. Light sweet molasses with a more pronounced chocolate bitterness with lots of roast and hints of smoke. Mouth is medium with a nice dry finish and average carbonation. Quite enjoyable.

Well it’s most definitely black with a light tan head. Raisin and earthy nose. Oh nice. That is good. Rich yet refreshing. Thick and just a little sticky. Sweet at first but swapping to a nice raisin and coffee mellowness. Going down very easily. Malts in the aftertaste. If there weren’t other beers I wanted to try before leaving I would be ordering more of this. VeloVampire (625) - Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 16, 2012
On tap at Volo - came near black with a one finger tan head that lasted for most of the pint. Aromas of espresso, dark chocolate, roasted grains. Roast dominates the flavour, but the body is beautifully (and surprisingly) light and snappy. Quite a lovely brew; could/will drink lots of this as it becomes more widely available.

Keg at loose moose Toronto. Dark reddy brown colour. Pleasant roasty sweet aroma. It's decent - caramel, roast malts, some fruit, a touch of coffee but still fairly light. Nice.

Black pour, beige head. Sweet roast aroma, milk chocolate, light hops. Good mouth feel, silky, soft carb. Sweet roasty finish, light bitterness, very easy drinking. jb (3250) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 17, 2016
On tap at the keg. Really well done and enjoyable. A true schwarzbier. Plenty of toasted malt quite crisp and palate is a touch smoky. Nice. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 24, 2012
Tap at Burger Bar. Pitch black pour with a tight lasting off-white head. Sticky lacing. The nose is lovely. Soft roast over a little bit of toasted malt. Medium-bodied but nicely clean. There is a nice toastiness tha works. No complaints about this one. It's a fine schwarzbier.

Pint on tap at The Griffin in Bracebridge. Black, with a small brown head. Certainly a big aroma for a lager, with lots of roast. The same can be said of the flavour, where cocoa powder joins the roast. Light sweetness. Great body for the style. Probably the best schwartzbier I’ve tied.
