Born in 1928, Simeon Jones left the family farm in the St. John River Valley as a young man and travelled to Saint John, finding employment in a brewery. He had a flare for business and soon owned the company. The ale he brewed was known throughout the Maritimes for its hearty, robust flavour and glowing amber colour. Eventually Jones was elected mayor of Saint John where he was long remembered as one of the finest men to ever hold that office. Always a gentleman, he was respected for his generosity, charity and kindness. Today Northampton Brewing Company produces this fine ale in the tradition of Simeon Jones, unsurpassed in quality and flavour.

This ale poured a deep amber colour with a nice, big, off white coloured head. A little lacing in the glass. To the nose there are scents of sweet ripe fruit, apple cider and very light scent of malt vinegar. First sip had a med/high carbonation with flavours of ripe fruit, smoke and toast. Finish is lightly bitter with malt lingering.

Nice beer with hint of vanilla (my taste) nice malt taste a bit like caramel but not to sweet. Not overly hoppy light and refreshing. Cloudy hazy slight copper Amber color. Overall a not bad beer. Cheers ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Where and how: big east coast trip 2017 – brewpub
Aroma straight malty somewhat nutty notes, touch of spice. Old school feel which I don’t mind it.
Appearance :
Top: medium white cap
Base: hazed amber base
Palate : thinner bodied, somewhat softer carbonation, soft body. Average finish.
Taste: walls were tad creamy, cleaner mid. Slightly nutty accented malt profile. Dry top. Smooth toasty finish with mild bitterness to pair. OK

Bronze pour, smells like like toffee malts tastes lightly sweet with some classic amber pine. Fairly light body, bready, average.

Gorgeous veiled mixed amber and copper color with faint activity. Creamy beige 2 finger head lasting around 5 minutes with average legs. Aromas and flavors of toffee, grains, fruits, citrus, nuts, herbal spices. Well intensified and delicious sweet taste of caramel with a toasty nutty bread feel. Medium body with good carbonation. Well intensified but short finish ending with an earthy and fruity, pleasantly spiced feel. Overall : Excellent craft; inviting smell, sexy look, delicious flavors, refreshing, accessible.

Good amber ale from Fredericton in New-Brunswick, great taste of caramel. A nice bitter finish, great beer!

(1154-290714)

Devastatingly low ratings for a decent brew methinks. Smelling of toasted brown bread and caramel, this rusty amber liquid sports a thin head. It’s super malty and quite sweet, not too much angry hopping happening here. It’s a medium-low carbonated beer that is a bit oily in feel as well. Fairly fun times.

Wow some pretty low ratings for this, quite unexpected. Poured a dark amber colour with quickly dissipating head. Aroma was of caramel, toffee, roasted malts, and brown bread. Tasted of heavy caramel malts, and big brown bread flavour, which I liked. Body was medium with low carbonation and a slick mouth feel. A very different amber ale that taste a lot more meatier than 4.5%.

Bottle. Pours a dark golden color with a thin off white head. Soapy and chemical aroma with some spiciness. Cloying lingering sweetness with a bit of buttery flavor. Taste a bit like homebrew. Okay, but not one I would seek out again.
