Appearance: A nice chestnut brown body with a thick, slightly tan head. When i hold the glass to the light, i can see a little bit through it and i also notice it’s good like a cherry wood color to it. Smell: A bit reserved but i definitely get some hops, dry nuts and herbs. Has a dirty feel to it. Taste: Astringent a little. A good hops presence that’s a little on the dry side. A little bit of malt but the bitterness is definitely the winner here. Has an earthen feel to it. Mouthfeel: Carbonation is quite alive for sure. This beer has an edge to it. It’s fairly well balanced but it does stradle the line between smooth and coarse though it seems to lean a little to the coarse side. Evens out a little as it warms.

A reddish copper ale with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, mineral notes, light grainy notes, OK. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light grainy notes, nutty, OK. On tap at Saint Houblon.

Belle couleur brune....presque pas de mousse par contre...un bon petit goût malté...pas la meilleure bière dégustée mais potable

On tap @ Saint Houblon. Clear amber pour with white foam. A lot of tea, bread, and toast to the nose. A little musty smelling, oddly. There’s a little bit of a tang to the flavor. Big time bread and toast on the palate. Pretty toasty, a little creamy caramel, and some grassy hops. More of your typical amber ale.

341ml bottle purchased at Marche Jovi in Gatineau, Quebec. Orange copper in colour with a thin quickly dissipating off-white head, light lacing. Aroma is malty, sweet with caramel and brown sugar, light fruity hop, very mild smoke. Flavour is a little sweet, sugary, some fruits, cake, a little bitter as well. Sweet malty mouthfeel, medium/light body, mild carbonation. Finishes sweet, moderate length, malty.

de couleur rousse on sens tout suite le caramel brulé de gros sucre en bouche sa bon gout de caramel tres preasent mais qui tombe pas sur le coeur avec en fin bouche un cote houblonner donnant une une petite amertume pour equelibre le caramel

Pour is clear amber with half a finger of khaki cap. Nose is lots of caramel with a bit of hay and herbs. Taste is on the sweet side: caramel, a bit of nuttiness, grain. Finish is mildly bitter, with a bit of an unpleasant metallic taste. Decent, but not among my favourite altbiers.

Fiche technique Style: Altbier Format: 341 ml Taux d?alcool : 6,6% Température: 10°C - 12°C IBU: 33
