Copper color with a short head that dies fast. Aromas and flavors of fruity caramel and burnt sugar. Very tender and smooth. Thick and spicy feel. Overall : Good mix of flavors, easy to drink, but with a coarse aftertaste.

This stuff is like so many of the Simple Malt hop series: overwhelmingly malty. It’s got a bit of faint citrus going on, but it’s almost entirely dominated by a spicy caramel malt - the same spicy caramel malt as usual. That being said it’s really not that bad, but like most of the offerings in this series it pales in comparison to their Double IPA DH.

Whoa!

Barely managed to choke it down. In a word....VILE! No Idea where they got the idea that this was anything that belongs in a bottle, glass, keg....etc.

500ml bottle purchased at the SAQ in Ville Marie Quebec. Copper pour, large off white head. Sweet, caramel malts, slight grains, some grass and super earthy hops, with hints of pine. Soft carb and mouthfeel with a medium to surprisingly light bitteness. The finish is incredibly earthy, the hops are slightly piney, and the malts dominate. Disapointing.

Bottle, shared with Robbie. Copper orange, very lively off white head. Exceedingly sweet caramel malt profile, soft tropical fruit hops, medium-low bitterness. Not the cascade character I was looking for. Disappointing.

500ml bottle fromthe SAQ, best before 11/14 so pretty old I guess. Pours a strong golden with a thick offwhite head that leaves intense lacing. Nose is of citrus and oxidized alcohol, this bottle is definitely old (1+ year?). There are also some esters (or it might be the oxidation) that are reminescent of a Belgian brew. Taste is moderately bitter and offers some more generic citrus and not much caramel (a good thing). Alcohol is quite present for such a "light" brew also. Body is medium, carbonation too and mouthfeel is quite airy. I simply cannot get over the boozy finish, though. Overall this wasn’t bad but it felt like it was brewed in ancestrial times and just too old already.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2014 500ml bottle from a SAQ in Montreal.Pours a coppery hue with a one finger white head.Aromas are mainly caramel malts and a slight hoppy undertone. Also a bit of sweet toffee. Very creamy mouthfeel. Tastes are a bit bready, with some red fruits on the swallow. Also an unfortunate hint of wet cardboard. Overall it?s easy drinking enough, but also easily forgetable. Wouldn’t buy this again.

500ml bottle. Looks, smells, tastes and feels like a single hop Cascade APA. Well done, but common. Worth trying.
