COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle (500 ml), split 2-ways. Pitch black with a medium mocha head, moderate retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is fudge and cocoa powder forward with coffee, mild fruitiness and molasses. Taste is sweet but not overly so with fudge, cocoa powder, espresso, berries, molasses and alcohol. Full body. Moderate-medium carbonation. Viscous mouthfeel but not super thick. Chocolatey finish with moderate alcohol warmth. Good fudge forward Imperial Stout that isn’t too cloying for the abv. Could be a little more balanced though because chocolatey features are dominant here.

Jet black, large dark brown head. Huge aromas. Intense charred malt, soy, burnt cocoa powder and strong espresso. The mouthfeel is oily and viscous, the carb is low but solid. The beer os so black its staining the sides of the glass brown. The finish is highly bitter, huge, intense charred roasty flavours. Subtle dark fruit, light piney hops. An intense, huge stout.

500 mL bottle. Pours dark, dark brown, with as dark a head as I’ve seen. Doesn’t last, though. All malty aroma, led by chocolate. Surprisingly unsophisticated flavour for the size, but it is still big and appealing. Lots of chocolate, roast, and booze, and a roasty-bitter finish. Somehow, though, not quite equal to the sum of its parts.

Pours a real dark colour, almost black, with hardly any highlights. Big frothy mocha head with average retention and some light foamy lace. Aromas of coffee, chocolate malt, molasses and hints of dark fruits. The taste starts off on a wrong note though, with some rustiness from the hops. Does get better with actual bitterness in the finish. Pretty bitter for an Impy Stout. Chocolate and coffee lingers. Pretty good overall, but the rusty notes are ruining this a little. Too bad.

[7035-20150130] 750mL bottle. Motor oil and roasted malt aroma black body with a quick foamy brown head. Heavy oily roasted malt grain flavour. Full rich body. Delicious. (8/3/8/4/15) 3.8
Overheard: "Can you put that in an aroma therapy candle and just burn it all night?" "Only if you’re not hungry."

Bottle - Graham cracker and rich dark chocolate. Deep jet brown with a dark brown head. Dark chocolate, roast, molasses and some bitter sweet notes. Long nice finish. Pretty good.
