Clear night sky color topped by a creamy light brown head. Smells of cappuccino, black chocolate, molasse and licorice with a hint of fruitness. Nice thicky and oily taste full of what the aroma introduced added of roasty malt, touch of vanilla and dark fruits (cherry/blackberry). Again a great Simple Malt product.

341ml bottle. Poured a 1 finger brown bubbly head with an extremely dark appearance, very much pitch black. Aromas of roasted malts, nuts and some chocolate. Flavours are mostly dark chocolate and dark roasted malts with coffee and notes of caramel. Lacing is ok. Medium retention. Has a creamy bitter mouthfeel, lots of cocoa and coffee notes on the finish. But about halfway through, mouthfeel became a bit more watery. Still very tasty!

Pours a deep black, topped by a finger of fizzy mocha head showing average retention and spotted lacing. The nose is sweet dark chocolate, burnt toast and faint leather notes. Strong earthy hops in the back. The taste is again sweet dark chocolate and figs, paired with those burnt notes and earthy hops. Super creamy and full-bodied, with a smooth bitterness. Long earthy finish with burnt notes of ground coffee beans. Very nice. Cheers!

FROMTHEBOTTLE (83) - Ontario, CANADA - SEP 17, 2015
341ml bottle Pour is as dark as week odd coffee. Thin tan/brown head dissolves rather fast. Aromas of chocolate, licorice and coffee, On the pallet bakers chocolate, cocoa and roasted nuts dominate. Warmth of the 8.1%abv balances the chocolates bitterness.

Dark like oil. Smells like pure dark Baker’s chocolate. Tastes like pure dark Baker’s chocolate. Oily, rich feel in mouth. Liquid bliss...

8.1 %. A deep dark stout with a very thin light brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate and caramel malt with light molasses, licorice, alcohol warmth, and fusel alcohol. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with light coffee notes, light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. On tap at EtOH.
