Dark body with gold flashes. Nice aroma of earthy hops, malt and oak. Taste is very smooth and you can feel toffee and dark fruits while the sweet bitterness of this beverage run through your mouth. A great one. HogTownHarry (6622) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - FEB 16, 2011
February 2010 - 341ml bottle shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. Clear deep amber with a tiny tan head. Sweet caramel aroma, lightly roasty, herbal and not at all boozy. Simple floral and sweet caramel taste, a bit pungent. Syrupy, slick and almost cloying sweet mouthfeel, with an appreciated herbal finish to it. Decent enough, a little to sweet. This Canadian Scotch ale pours a clear deep red-amber colour with a light brown coloured head that is smaller than most, disappears quicker than most and just has a little bit of lace. Nice carbonation that has tiny little bubbles and is active. Aromas of caramel malt with notes of cinnamon and hints of nuts. Smooth mouthfeel with a little stick. Taste of hop that seems a bit contradicting the caramel and nutty malt, giving the brew a touch of rust. Decent Scotch ale overall, but just needs that well-balanced feeling. 12oz bottle pours clear deep copper with thin tan head. The aroma is rich sweet prunes, rich cherry candy, molasses, some maple and some malts. The taste begins with a pleasing rich earthiness sweetened by thick layers of prunes, cherries and sugar stewed raisins as well as a mild amount of maple. Around the edges of those notes is a mild spicy hop flavor providing a faint bitterness. Nice rich brew. Roli (405) - laval, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 10, 2011
341 ml bottle. Dark brown color a with thin and fast dissipearing head. Sweet aroma of caramel and roasted malts. Not very fizzy. Spices come first in the taste, then the softness of caramel, chocolate and dark fruits comes. Full bodied and smooth creamy mouthfeel. This brewery doesn’t dissapoint !

Bouteille partagée avec Jdubfl.
Couleur brune laissant quelques bulles.
Thanks to the Tampa crew for sharing this one. Pours clear cola brown with a white head. Nose is syrup, brown sugar, nice malt sweetness, and a bit of caramel. Flavor is similar with a great sweetness all around. Good wee heavy. Lubiere (13771) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 1, 2011
A dark amber mahoganny ale with a thin light moka head. In aroma, loads of fruity esters over caramelized burned sugar, and light cinnamon notes. In mouth, a smooth sweet chocolate with light toffee notes, a bit thin and grainy. On tap at St-Bock, Dec. 18 2010.

Bottle. Pours a dark bruin body with a tan head. Malty wooden a woody scotch like character. Dry caramel with a light chocolate malt accent. Sweet with hints of cracked pepper and oatmeal. Good stuff. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 3, 2010
341 mL bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear deep copper with an orange-tan rim.
Aroma: Rich, sweet malts, stewed dark dried fruits, a little boozy, brown sugar, molasses, a touch of licorice, some esters, pretty nice.
Palate: Medium+ body, somewhat sparse effervescence with a few prickly bubbles.
Flav.: Lots of sticky sweet malts, a bit more booze and a bit less fruity than the nose, brown sugar, the esters are lessened, a touch meaty/savoury, not quite as enjoyable as the nose, but still decent; sweet with a touch of bitterness and some warming alcohol, wrapped in a sweet, malty finish.
