Palme (4823) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 22, 2014
Sampled from a 0.355l bottle @ RBNG 2014. This is a deep and dark brown one with a medium sized sidesticking beige top. The nose had a good amount of sweetness, almost candy sweetness, light roasted touch and a little bit of wood and chocolate. Is it something light smoked in the back? Tastes nice. Lots of the sweetness here. Not the black kind. Coffee sourness with cardboard and chocolate malts also present. It feels light oily in the mouth and it’s softly carbonated. Gliding and a tad sweet. 15.02.2014

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, black with a thick, large, dark mocha colored head. Very beautiful. Aroma is somewhat sweet with toffee, roasted malts naturally. Chocolate, coffee. Maybe a little bit of nettles as well. Taste is fairly dry with some sweetness in the background. Surprisingly the dark breadiness is really strong. Dark malt bread. There’s roast and coffee too of course. Some caramel, light wooden touch on the finish. Full with fairly mild carbonation.

DSG (15237) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - SEP 17, 2014
Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks tomer. Black with a brown head. Aroma of malt, roast, chocolate, licorice and a light fruity note. Bittersweet flavor, roasty, with a bit of coffee, a bit of chocolate, a licorice note and a drier finish. Quite full-bodied and rounded. Very nice.

Christos (5889) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - AUG 21, 2014
(Sinebrychoff / Brooklyn Two Tree Porter) 330 ml bottle received from Hermod, thanks Micael! Poured into a snifter, ABV 7.2% Black coloured beer with a thick and tall deep brown head sitting on top. Fantastic retention. Heavy lacing left behind after it has finally collapsed. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malts, light alcohol. Very inviting. Taste of chocolate, light vanilla, little bit of pine, roasted malts and ash on the finish, mild bitter on the aftertaste but with long duration. Medium thick body, nicely carbonated. Slightly sticky palate. Great beer.

Black body, tan head. Faint malty aroma. Strong bitter taste. Soft mouthfeel and little carbonation. Alright overall.

nimbleprop (8761) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 24, 2014
12oz bottle via Summer Secret Santa 2014. Pours a murky, basically opaque, mahogany brown with some creamy, brown head. Nose has a lot of molasses, licorice, some booze, dates, raisins, a little bit of dried fig, malt, a little tiramisu. Flavor has a bit more depth, bread crust, brown sugar, dates, malt, some toast, a little burnt wheat, some toasted wood, a little super dried raisin, molasses and licorice too. Full bodied, but surprisingly dry.

Roasted aroma of malts, chocolates, coffee, dark fruits. Taste is roasted malt, spices, coffee, hops. Sweet milk chocolate finish. Interesting and tasty brew.

Unde (1152) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 19, 2014
A deep dark brown colour with cinnamon coloured thick head. Some lacing sticks to the glass as the head dissolves. Aroma has lots of forest-like qualities, sweet malty notes and chocolate. Taste has this forest-like flavors too, a bit too much in my opinion. Then there is lots of roasted flavors, chocolate and some grassy hops. A slightly oily body and medium-to-low carbonation. The original Koff Porter is still the better one, but I have to give Sinebrychoff some credit for trying something new for once.

Bottle at Casper is back tasting. Black beer lasting tan beige. Some malt pretty decent some soy sauce. Not my favourite.

Scopey (15725) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2014
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours near black with a small bubbly tan head. The nose is roasty, treacle, candy, treacle, light spice and rocky road. The taste is bitter, roasty, acidic, spice, maple syrup, earth, toast, coffee and alcohol with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.
