Draught. Black in color, thin bubbly beige head. Roasted malts in aroma mostly. Grassy bitter taste with some roasted notes. Quite strongly hopped this version. Grassy bitter finish, that evens out a bit. Quite well balanced. Citrus in finish. This just didn’t do it, the regular version is way better.

Cask at St Urho’s portteripäivät Color:black beige airy head . Strong roasty fruity and Amarillo hoppy full body not oily at all. Not at all like basic oily Koff Porter. Delicious one more please!

Cask @ St. Urho’s Pub, Helsinki

Pours pitch black with a bubbly brown head. Aroma of dark fruity notes, roastiness, hints of licorice and vanilla. Taste is massively fruity and smooth with some pleasant roastiness, hints of grapefruits, lemon, coffee and licorice. Smooth and fruity finish, with nice roastiness, grapefruit and coffee notes in the end with long lasting hoppy notes. Completely different stuff compared to the bottled version, this would easily pass as a black IPA. Very tasty and perhaps even better than the regular version, at least for hopheads like myself.

(Cask at St. Urho’s Pub Portteripäivät’13) The beer poured black. Its head was sparse, medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts, fruitiness, citricness and chocolate. Palate was full bodied and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, grapefruit, citricness, fruitiness, chocolate and bitterness. Afteraste was fruity, roasty and bitter. Good be sold as black IPA, too. A very tasty experiment.
