Bottle at home ... Thanks to Pat ... Deep solid black ... nice roast and lots of alcohol in nose ... roast malt ... bit bitter ... some hop character ... bit over powerful with the balance a bit off but still ok.

Bottle at Dempsey’s. Pours like motor oil, shiny and black, with a sizeable, firm beige head. Lots of roasted malts and dark chocolate in the aroma. Flavor was somewhat sweet, but the bitter chocolate, almost like baking cocoa, held things in check. Full bodied, chewy, with fine, soft carbonation. Lingering roasty dryness. Excellent.

Bottle from Systembolaget Hansa, Malmö. Black with a big and lasting brown head. Aroma is dry, roasted malt, licorice and minor notes of rye bread. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish. 150414

Dark brown color; big, creamy head. Aroma of malt, yoghourt, sweet. Good body strength, a bit oily, roasted malts, light liquorice, light paperboard. Bitterness given most of all by the roasted malt.

Bottle from rosenbergh, many thanks!

Weiterhin angenehm cremig. Köbes, noch eins! Test vom 4.2.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,12,11,14,8,12 - 11,75

Taste comprises cocoa powder, toffee, dark roast malt, earthy, light brown sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet finish with roasty tones. Average affair.

Bottle from Systembolaget. This is kinda funny. I have tried this beer several times, and I am pretty sure I have rated it once or even twice. But here we go again... Pitch black beer with a nice brownish head. Malty roasted aroma, fruity, raisins, cocoa, licorice notes. tar, coffee notes. Malty caramel flavor, vinous, raisins, figs, chocolate, grapes, cocoa, Cream notes, some licorice. Malty raisin finish with chocolate, caramel and some figs. Nice sweetish stout.

Bottle thanks to Rune and Finn. Drunk at home whilst watching jokes about camels. Totally black beer with thick tan head. It’s a thickish beer. Some molasses some liquorice. I prefer a more coffee and chocolate porter. It’s thick and quite tickley dry malty on the finish. Some dryness. It’s a tasty thick porter. Wow. it’s really intense.
