Bottle. Pours black with a small head. Aroma of dried fruit, vanilla, and coffee. Flavor is heavy with roasted malt and coffee, with a tad bit of sweetness. I t is a little thin in the mouth, but that makes this one more drinkable for a porter of this style. Slightly bitter finish that goes down smooth. I liked this beer, but it did not knock me out. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - AUG 13, 2006
Palonen bought me this bottle. Pours a dark brown. Aroma of roasted malt, slight alcohol. This is the perfect specimen of the porter style. FezMonkey (268) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 4, 2006
pours jet black with a nice side tan head that has good lacing. Smoky roasted and nutty aroma. Smokey coffee and chocolate flavors. Creamy body with a slight bitter aftertase. Palidor19 (3186) - Brandon, Florida, USA - DEC 29, 2006
Very dark and very rich with cocoa. the nose overwhelm the smells of dark roasted malts and caramel. Even though it has high Alcoholic content, it does seem to hit me as other strong beer. perfect for a night cap after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JAN 7, 2007
33 cl. Clearly this beer was meant to rescue me from my bottle shop import-spree doldrums tonight. Had no idea what I was getting when I randomly grabbed it. Pours ebony with a towering, 7-finger, sudsy tan head. Lots of chocolate on the nose, lots of nothing at all else, too. Restrained attack, with medium body, tangible carb, and present flavor. Clean, chocolatey, very dry, a bit chalky mid-palate. Lingering, very chalky finish. I gotta get over my chalk hangup ’cause clearly it’s not a niche phenomenon.

Poured from bottle with an average brown creamy, frothy head that was mostly diminishing with good lacing. Dark brown/black in color. Had almost a wine like aroma. Good smooth taste, however it did have a slight metallic flavor in the aftertaste. caesar (7103) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JUL 14, 2007
Tap @ In de Wildeman. Dark black color, short dark brown head. Aroma of some coffee and licorice, quite weak though, some candy sugar, dark fruit. Very clean and very bitter taste, not expected because hops are not abundant in aroma. Very malty, coffee. Clean bitter palate. xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - JUL 23, 2007
A forced drink at 1:15 on a monday because the beer broke open on me when moving beers. Opaque black with tan head. Aroma is doughy, alc, smoked dark malts, and some dark choclate. Flavor is dark fruits, black licorice, choclate, alc, smoke, and little bitterness. Med thin body with no carb to speak of but that could be due to the whole dropping process. Overall I pretty nice but will have to rerate at a later date. mike_77 (6603) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - AUG 4, 2007
Massive creamy head recedes around the edges leaving the centre of the foam looking like a poached egg floating within. The flavour is predominantly dry and bitter with some coffee notes coming through. The texture is rich and oily giving a great mouthfeel.

33cl bottle; Nose of chocolate with a molasses note; opaque black with a medium glass-lacing tan head; flavor of a mixture of chocolate, molasses, and some coffee; finish being a very faint hop bitterness. Body is medium; good but not great. A little too molassesy for my taste.
