Bottled. Copper coloured, big white foamy head. Sweetish malty aroma with caramellish hints. Sweet hayish malty flavour with caramellish hints. Not much aftertaste.

This is the latest beer I have tried, and I was pleasantly surprised, considering it’s a finnish beer. Quite a bit of flavor, and the aroma was quite nice, just a bit of metal in the aftertaste, some sweetness on the tip of the tongue...

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 14, 2005
Light golden color, big bubbled white head. Estery aroma with some grassy tones, reminds me of some Eastern European lagers. Grassy and estery flavor, some skunky tones and metal comes up too. Slight carbonation comes up in the end, sweetness lasts with some estery tones. Just one Finnish bulk lager.

JensenTaster (1719) - DENMARK - OCT 29, 2004
(on bottle) Actually I had a good experience with this one. Very malty and sweet nose, ther´s barley in use here for sure. Is placed "high" in the mouth, thanx to a good hopping an dfait carbonation. A fresh drink.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2006 Bottled (BB 09/2004 = fresh, brewed in Pori)
Dark honey color, medium foamy head, some lace. Slightly hoppy aroma with a metallic tone. This one has clearly more malty body than other Sinebrychoff lagers. Watery, slightly sweet finish. (5/2/6/3/9 2.5)
Re-rated, can (brewed in Kerava, BB 06/2006)
They call this now Nikolai Premium
Deep golden yellow, nice foamy white head, some lace. Malty cardboard aroma. Malty with harsh bitterness in the finish. Some sweetness in the start and finish. Ok with food (sausages) and sauna, otherwise forget it. (3/3/3/2/8 1.9)

sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 13, 2004
UPDATED: OCT 27, 2006 (Canned) Clear, light copper color with a smallish, white, moderately tight and slightly lacy head. Corny-buttery-malty aroma with toffee hints and metal. Quite malty, slightly buttery flavor with grassy hoppiness and a quickly fading, metallic finish. Light to medium-bodied, quite fizzy-carbonated and metallic palate. Slightly more malty than the average Finnish swill, but not really that much more enjoyable, mostly because of the metallic feel. A bit softer as it warms. (Bottled, rated 3/13/2004, was 2-3-4-2-7=1.8) Amber-copper color, medium head. Nice bottle. Very strongly metallic/rusty aroma. Malty, quite rounded aroma with a metallic hint. The absence of hops makes this beer pretty unbalanced when drank by itself, although it goes down well with food. Medium-bodied, quite carbonated palate. This used to be my favorite of the Finnish macrobrews, but now that I’ve really tasted it - I don’t think so... Maybe it was the pretty bottle.

jutuahol (190) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - SEP 20, 2003
Copper red color, pretty thick head, some lace. Full malty nose. Full, smooth body, moderately bitter.

Dragonblaze99 (353) - Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2002
Slightly sourish aroma. Flavor opens with slight bitterness, noticeable alcohol tang. Finishes off sweetish.

Solenoidi (7) - FINLAND - MAR 22, 2001 does not count
