A premium lager beer brewed from the finest ingredients, Singha is a full-bodied 100% barley malt beer that is distinctively rich in taste with strong hop characters. Brewed with three hops: Saaz, Perle and Hallertau. Editor’s Note: Recipe scaled down from 6% to 5% in 2007.

Gold with fair, creamy, white head / Clean nose of grain and honey / Light body, crisp and clean with good finish / Flavors of grain with lemon and honey notes / For this style of beer, it’s very good.

330ml bottle poured into a pint glass. An aggressive pour yields a two finger white head over a clear medium yellow beer. Aroma is just a touch skunky at first but this soon fades leaving a pleasant grassy hop aroma along with some bready grain. Flavor is a pleasant malty sweetness and bready grain. Grassy hops are present in the beginning yielding to a crisp drying bitterness. The beer finished quite clean with decent bitterness, almost like a pilsener. Overall a pretty decent beer. Would be a great thirst quencher with some Thai food.

Schöner weisser Schaum auf klarem hellgoldgelben Bier. Ein Hopfenduft steigt in die Nase. Der erste Schluck fliesst sanft prickelnd den Gaumen entlang die Kehle hinunter! Das Hopfenaroma legt sich perlend auf der Zunge nieder. Der Abgang ist leich bittersüss. Im Nachhall klingen nochmals alle Bieraromen nach. Ein sehr gutes Bier.

Best choice while in Thailand, no doubt - nice "international class" lager that even Czech, German, Belgian or Irish drinker used to good beer can switch to on his trip to Thailand without fear of spoiling the experience with "beer-sickness". Looks and tastes good and has no ill sideeffects even after consuming several bottles (which is generally a good test for recognizing real beer from "piss in beer disguise" - no names mentioned so producers/drinkers of such stuff don't get offended ;o))

Really enjoy this as a crisp sharp lager that is not as crisp and light as a pilsener. Just a bit sharper than standard smooth no-finish lagers, but very enjoyable.

Unquestionably the finest lager beer in all of Asia, eclipsing even Kirin and ’real Tsingtao’ (the stuff actually made in Qingdao). Sharp, with a slightly bitter aftertaste, medium-bodied but achieving a perfect balance, ultimately. It’s 5% alcohol content is not distinct and does not overwhelm the taste. This beer compliments almost every food, Asian or otherwise.
