Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear amber-brown (mahogany!!!) with a creamy, white. Nice bready malt nose, some pine, caramel. Light to medium sweet flavor with toasted pine, wholegrain bread, some ripe orange. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced on the finish, some bitter orange rind, toasted pine, brown bread. Good stuff.

Tap at the source. Pours red color, beige head. Aroma is caramel, orange, big hope prominence, very sweet. Flavor is caramel, sugar sweetness, orange rind. Very sweet up front, bitter finish. Not bad. I can dig it.

Draft from NYC Craft Beer Fest. Nice ruby color with a sweet, almost rocky candy residual sugar kick with notes of Franzia wine. Dusty mouthfeel was oddly pleasurable.

Pours mahogany (clearly), white head. Aroma is malty, pine, caramel, faint coffee. Med sweet, lots of pine & bready malt. Medium body, fairly nice fruity piney hop profile.

Tap. Pours clear amber. Small white head. Smell is hoppy. Taste is bitter, sharp malty back. Amber malts are clear. More like an ipa to me rhan a amber ale.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2016 Draft at UES Pony with puzzl. Pours a deep amber brown with white lacing. Aroma is straight weed and dank herbal hop. Lots of nelson. Medium bodied, almost creamy with a soft, muted hop profile. Still, such a strange beer - sticky hops and sweet caramel malts.

Slipstream (2625) - USA - FEB 17, 2013
Draft at The Bronx Ale House. Aroma of yeasty, freshly baked bread and lots of floral hops. Sheet lacing on the glass. It tastes of dark bread, yeast, and APA hops. A somewhat unusual combination that works out well.

Location: Draft at The Growler, 4/10/13

Aroma: The nose has some citrus, herbal, and pine hops, caramel malts, and some toast as well
Appearance: This one has a dark red pour with a beige head, and fairly thick, heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is similar to the nose component-wise, it leans bitter without too much sweetness
Palate: The body of this one is medium and it has a decent mouthfeel, the finish is on the dry side
Overall Impression: I thought this was a perfectly acceptable hoppy red beer. It isn’t a standout for the style, but it is pretty clear between this and the Half Stack (vs. the Lagrrr) that Singlecut, so far at least, does ales better than lagers.

@ Singlecut. Pours copper with an off-white ring. Aroma is in your face piney hops. Quite the surprise there. Taste follows through and is not totally overpowering. Interesting how restrained the taste was considering the aroma. Palate was slightly thin, though they also had the beer on nitro. Didn’t try the nitro, but I’m going to assume I’d like the mouthfeel better there. Finish is bitter and does not linger long. I’m a fan of this one.

Nice looking, malty nose, then after that it is an IPA all the way. Not quite what I was hoping for but good.
