COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fruit from Haspengouw is a household name. Worldwide, the name of the largest fruit region of Western Europe, Haspengouw, is well known for quality and innovation.
In the past there were also many fruit beers produced in this region, today just a few which makes that the wonderfull fruitbeers of Brouwerij Cornelissen are unique. The full flavoured cherryjuice went directly from the field into the brewing kettle, similarly for this traditional cherry beer that is brewed by Brouwerij Cornelissen since 1977.
Their craftsmanship in 1997 was awarded a silver medal quality. A unique combination of fresh cherry juice with our refined Limburgse Witte beer (wheat). One amazing sweet, refined and fruity cherry beer. Turn with the bottle when halfway and pour the loose yeast in your glass, that's the perfect Kriekenbier wheat, nice hazy real Kriekenbier wheat. the aroma is fruity with shades of cherry, candy, bubblegum and cherrystone... the taste is fruity and rather sweet with notes of cherry, lollipop, bubblegum and garden fruits... sweet and, a little bit, dry aftertaste...

Butelka pite w domu.

14/VIII/15 - 25cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: XI/2015 (2015-1052)

Note: when even my sister in law thinks it’s too sweet, you know it’s gonna be bad...
Clear red brown beer, small creamy irregular light pink head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very sweet and sugary, cherry candy, bit lemony. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sugar, cherry candy, lemony sourness. Aftertaste: very sugary, sourish touch, candy, cherry syrup, nothing else, yet almost acidic enough to be drinkable.

Alengrin (5722) - BELGIUM - OCT 12, 2014
UPDATED: SEP 11, 2015 Sweet cherry beer based on Pax Pils - in fact, except from something similar made in Germany, this is the only ’kriek’ I know of which is based on a ’pils’. Bright red with thin pink head, very sweet, cloying, fruit candy, grenadine. Needless to say, nothing of the basic beer is noticeable. Not for my taste at all but I must admit it has a certain ’old school’ flair I can sympathize with.

blackisle (2816) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - JUN 30, 2014
Bottle 25cl. Slightly unclear light red color, large pinkish foamy head, recedes quickly to thin layer, sticky lacing; aroma candy sugar, tart, cherry, cinnamon, almond/marzipan; taste very sweet, quite artificial, marzipan tones; light to medium body, sticky mouthfeel; sweet sticky finish
