COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
‘Zwaluw’ is a grassy, fruity and bitter rye session ale with rye malt (15%) delivering a body to defy it’s low ABV and a heavy dosing of Amarillo in dry hop to equip it with a stone-fruit and citrus juiciness. The beer is named after an iconic migratory bird that travels every year from Africa to the Zwin nature reserve on the Belgian-Dutch border, just 15 kilometres from our brewery: the Swallow. It’s the iconic symbol of the arrival of summer, and is often referred to as the ‘bird of freedom’. Summer beer is low enough in alcohol to facilitate easy drinking, refreshing enough to quench a thirst in warmer weather and full-flavoured enough to accompany the joy of the season. One swallow does not a summer make. So, drink two.

17/IX/17 - on tap @ Hedonis Ambachtsfest (Gent) - BB: n/a (2017-1534) Thanks to 77ships and Bierridder_S for sharing today's beers!

Pretty cloudy pale beige to yellow beer, solid creamy nice white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: bit malty, grains, some citrus, fruity touch, bit grassy. MF: lively carbon, medium body (impressive for 3.3%!). Taste: quite some citrus, nice bitterness, very refreshing hops, bit grassy. Aftertaste: hoppy, lots of citrus, very bitter, bit resinous, grains, some hay, grassy finish. Very decent low abv beer!! Even at the end of a long afternoon of beer tasting, it still manages to satisfy my tasting buds!

Donkergeel bier met heel veel schuim wat lang blijft staan. Smaak is licht bitter hoppig en fruitig met iets van citrus en duidelijke hopsmaak. Erg goed bier.

kraddel (9425) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUL 30, 2017
Bottle. Pours unclear yellow, more like a white beer than a blonde beer. Small to regular sized, stable white head. Smell is full, bit rye, mild hoppy notes ( hidden ). Taste is sharp, bitter, lemon. High carbo, rather weak body. Very refreshing. To be drank like a way better lemonade. Nice.
