The Half Moon, Windlesham. Colin and Sue’s Wedding. Keg. Light haze on this gold beer, good white head. The palate has a soft background but it’s peppered with minerally carbonation. Good malt backbone, with a nice sweetness that I suspect is part honey. Good tropical fruit hops, mango with a a trace of pineapple and lesser citrus. Finishes pretty light with moderate bitterness. This really is dangerously drinkable DIPA. I had 2.5 pints and the only effort I had to make was to slow down, I could have easily tucked another couple away but I knew I would be paying the bill the next day and my missus was there to bolster my resolve! The beer just doesn’t get chewy or too bitter when drinking in volume. Lovely!
On tap at Colin’s Wedding Party - somewhere outside London. This is a damn fine beer marked by its exceptional balance. It’s loaded up with orange, lemon and urine. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Resinous on the finish, moderately sweet with more bright citrus fruits, pee. You really can’t detect that this beer is as strong as it is. Great stuff. Super drinkable. Rasmus40 (21697) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - JAN 1, 2015
