lovely breakfast stout.
pours smooth, very black with little to no transparency. tan head, dissipating after a few minutes to the crema on an espresso.
coffee notes on the aroma, slightly petrol smell, chocolate liquor lingering.
chocolatey taste, lots of ’mid’ notes, slightly bitter but not assertively or unpleasantly so. well balanced. smooth and drinkable. the coffee notes build as you drink, building the bitterness over time
velvety mouthfeel, nice and thick, feels warming. no unpleasant bite.
very enjoyable beer Gangstergafje (1102) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - MAY 15, 2017

The beer looks lovely. It is like a stout should look like. The color of the beer is a very dark brown, almost black. It is to dark to check the clarity. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of smooth light brown foam. Lovely.
The smell of the beer is lovely. It’s real stout. I smell nice toasted malt aromas. There is coffee, some nice bitter and slightly savoury roast and a nice mild touch of liquorice. There is a tiny hoppy bitterness and fruitiness in there to.
The taste is just as good. Full taste of bitter sweet chocolate, lovely coffee. The malt flavours are amazing. Such clear flavours. Sweets, bitters and slightly savoury notes are in perfect balance. Great.
The palate is a lso lovely. Nice smooth and creamy texture, full body and a lovely long dark chocolate finish. Amazing. mkel07 (5845) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUN 26, 2014
330ml bottle from The Wine Emporium 260614. Big creamy brown head of brown foam atop a big black beer. Sweet and burnt aroma. Brew_Cat (134) - Athens, GREECE - SEP 6, 2015
What a treasure!! Pours beautiful opaque black with average creamy off-white head. Excellent lacing. Full bodied, average maltiness with chocolate, coffee and roasted aromas. Average hops, mostly pine. Definitely interesting adds of toffee and brown sugar with hints of burnt coffee beans. Complex, revealing, sophisticated imperial stout!

Rich aroma features smoky malt, licorice, roast quality coffee and chocolate tones plus a snip of molasses. It pours luscious coffee-sable with a thick and persistent tan head. Flavor delivers roast malt, quality coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, molasses, and hints of licorice and smoke. Velvety smooth mouthfeel features firm, viscous body and fair fizz. Dream on! msbernac (2563) - Krakow, POLAND - OCT 21, 2013

Overall-unbelievably good Chr0s (20) - - FEB 13, 2014
Chocolatey, malty aroma, followed by a lovely mellow, vaguely creamy mouthfeel. Extremely smooth overall, doesn’t betray its ABV. Great appearance, rich brown with little head and no lingering bubbles. This is fantastic, my dreams remain unbroken.
