Backlog rating. Cask at CBC Clerkenwell 2nd Birthday party. It pours a creamy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma is yeasty and sweet with banana esters, dried red berries, juicy tropical fruit hops. Taste is quite sweet although the generous hopping balances it out in part. Big juicy mango and oranges, citrus peel, ripe peaches and toffee. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, definitely tasty Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 3, 2014
Keg. Reddish-amber. Bubbly head. Subtle lychee and melon aroma. There’s a lot of light crystal, and a fair bit of hop bitterness, with strong alcohol in the finish too. But the hops are fun, melony and interesting. Lonick (1864) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 22, 2013
Quite sweet and herbal at the same time, then the bitterness kicks in and when it does it packs quite a punch. Tasty without being top of the class TBone (17440) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 21, 2013

"Golden Barley Wine"
Slight hazy amber color, small beige head, some lace. Lots of citrus hops and fruity juice in the aroma. Medium-bodied. Flavor has lots of Citra, semi-bitterness, fruity. Lingering bitterness in the aftertaste.
Draught @ CBC2013. Pours hazy reddish golden with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is malty, fruity and floral with crackers, biscuits, mango, papaya, pineapple, grapefruit juice, moist green herbs, sweet dark bread, toffee, alcohol, lemon balm, lemon zest and orange zest. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, fruity, herbal and floral with crackers, biscuits, toffee, alcohol, moist green herbs, grass, pine needles, grapefruit juice, tropical fruit smoothie, lemon zest, orange zest and caramel. Mouthfeel is round, astringent, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter, fruity, floral and herbal with biscuits, caramel, alcohol, grapefruit juice, tropical fruits, moist green herbs, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, grass, pine needles and alcohol. DIPA-esque, nicely done... Rune (12587) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 5, 2013
Half pint, cask at Vintage. Fawn-coloured head, firm amount of lacework. Brown coloured body with a reddish shade. Malt-fruity nose. Spiced fruity and juicy malty flavours promoting a marmalade impression. Bittersweet ending. Mediuem to full bodied. Nice, rather heavy to drink though (Leith 11.08.2013). McNeillR (2313) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 26, 2013
Still, artificial orange body and crumbled off-white head. Fairly steely alcohol on the nose, but a soft almost hop bitters nose. Deceptively loose initial mouth-feel, Big globs of malt and dusty herbs splashdown midway and a super sweet caramel torch on the palate for the finish. Soft dewy floral finish with a pleasant barley wine bitterness. fonefan (48669) - VestJylland, DENMARK - AUG 25, 2013
I forgot this was a Barely Wine halfway through, a lovely bitter dessert effort with enough hops to lift off the palate.
