Cask at the vintage... Copper... Creamy tan head... Soft zezty woody pine hop nose... Chewy malts... Bitter herbal malt... Soft toffee... Sadly too bitter for me... The_Osprey (7985) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2013
Draught. I think that this is the first draught barley wine I’ve ever had. Anyway, it’s a clear golden brown. Thin sudsy head. Smell - sherry, dates, indistinct fruits, soap. Mid body. Taste is in 3 stages - starts watery and mild, then liquorice and alcohol, finishes astringent bitter herbs and a slight caramel. The more you drink, the more the bitter herbs become prominent. Some good qualities particularly the smell but the taste isn’t setting the world alight. Bragesnak (5394) - Aarhus, DENMARK - AUG 1, 2013
