Gravity cask @ the NWAF ’14, Derby. Black, very black. Joy! Slightly burnt raisin toast in the aroma, along with Xmas pud and strong alcohol. Taste is sweet just short of cloying. Perfect. It is rare when an ale this strong justifies its ABV. What a great beer. thewolf (12744) - Kolding, DENMARK - FEB 13, 2014
Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade. Pours deep opaque black with a small frothy off-white film head. Aroma has oak, light port, raisins, plums. Low carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of raisin, plums, mild chocolate. Cloves and coriander as well. Quite bitter malty finish. Christmas? Leighton (22027) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 8, 2014
