From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is chili overdose with some malt and further spicy notes struggling to get through. Flavour is sweet with massive chili burn in the throat. Medium bodied. I love chili in my beer when it is used to good effect, here it just overpowers everything else.

Keg @Salt Horse, Edinburgh. Pours brown/dark amber, thin white head. Nose is tropical fruits, spices, caramel, slightly sweet toffee. Tastes fruity at first but then the chilli comes in, its too spicy for me.

Bottle, [email protected], Kolding. Pours deep red amber with a large, fizzy, cola-like head. Aroma has sweet caramel malts, mild burning chili, a bit of toffee, some indistinct herbal notes, probably from the chili. High, prickly carbonation, quite dry and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour has a fine initial chili burn, then solid fat caramel and crystal malts and a finishing warming, burning sensation. Quite rough but drinkable.

Tayeth (675) - North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2017
Aroma rauchig, etwas Asche, etwas Paprika.

Kein Schaum. Geruch karamellig. Rauchig. Im Geschmack rauchig. Auf der Zunge kleine Teilchen. Im Nachgeschmack angenehm scharf.

330 ml. bottle. BBF 28.07.17. Dark ruby amber, creamy disappearing tanned head. Nose is herbal sticky sweet malts, herbal pine resin syrup in the back, sugar & dark bread syrup. Taste is mellow smoked chili, smoked paprika but it is messy with a metallic note following it, metallic herbal, black bread syrup base, there is a strange malty herbal character, chili is passable, weird with smoked paprika. Overall, too metallic, strangely stick malty, chili isn’t the best. Body is the same, it passes but could have been more for sure. Better than a few puzzling chili beers for sure.
