berkshirejohn (6651) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2017
33cl bottle picked up from Lovibond's Brewery, Henley, and approaching its best before date. A hazy pinkish amber coloured pour, leaving lots of crud in the bottle, and with a tight creamy head with a pinkish tint; a floral hibiscus aroma with perhaps a hint of blackcurrant; soft fruity taste which is definitely reminiscent of Vimto, but with a pleasant underlying woodiness; and a satisfying rich finish and well hidden alcohol. Rather good.

Bottle picked up from Beer Gonzo, Webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry and consumed at at Les Pres Verts 4 Sardines Campsite, Concarneau , Brittany Sunday 11th June 2017 it’s warm and sunny Sunday afternoon early evening. Pours reddy amber with a white head head with a feint pink hue. Nice softness, fruity and I completely get the Vimto slant that was aimed for. Soft blackcurrant but with a nice warmth from the abv. Quite nice but a bit too much of a niche effort. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Idiosynkrasie (7952) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 6, 2017
330ml bottle. Murky, brown colour with late awakening, small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Intense fruity aroma, notes of raspberry displaying leafy, fruit acidic and sweet-ish aspects, subtle hints of dark berries, bramble, blackcurrant. Taste is tart-ish, dry, slightly earthy fruity, notes of blackcurrant, hints of bramble, raspberry, some hibiscus, minimally woody, tannic interludes.

Keg @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Its towards Vimto in flavour, but certainly not as stated or as overbearing as the cordial drink. (For those that are unfamiliar with the cordial version - that has a soft winter fruitiness about it.) Clouded magenta brown in colour.

Svartvit (950) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 29, 2017
From draft at Murphy’s Law. Pours a hazy dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is packed with fruits, raspberry, strawberry, blackberry. Very sweet, a bit overripe, sometimes almost concentrate/syrup-like. All backed up by a typical Belgian yeast with banana notes. It also packs a ton of tannins/oaky notes making it almost earthy. Over medium sweet, under medium bitter, light tartness. Medium body, low carbonation. Very dry aftertaste. Interesting but overpowering and with an unpleasant finish.

[email protected], Copenhagen - Dark Amber orange with big off white head. Sweet berry fruity aroma and taste, some prominent raspberry and blackberry, berry fruity with some herbal and wooden notes into the close.

allmyvinyl (10995) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 15, 2017
Bottle from drygate. Lumpy pour, murky red-purple with no head. Aromas of red fruit, yeast. Not getting much of the oak. Plenty of Belgian yeast action though. More red fruit on the taste. Easy drinking. Looks awful though.

drjoeng (1380) - SINGAPORE - FEB 26, 2017
8.5%ABV. Belgian ale. Poured out brown, purple. 28ºSRM. Nose is funky sour with a woody, wormwood like aroma. Mouthfeel is juicy. Palate is woody and dry. Hops are noble and woody, English bitter hops in the flavor. Wormwood, hint of sandalwood. Finish is dry and woody. Overall, like a very dry fruity cider or a very dry wine with a prolonged woody, English hop bitter finish.
