Liten krona. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Complex nose mostly reminiscent of candy apple and a chrystalline royal chestnut brown colour. Slightly dominated by a fizzy furry mouth feel, there is a dry thinnish medicinal quality before finishing with a quick almost bitterish cognac týpe dried fruit end. Very potent.

Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - NOV 27, 2014
375ml bottle. Dark, hazy brown with a couple fingers of head. Aroma shows off the spirit barrels. Lots of oak and grape skin. Taste starts with sweet brown sugar and dark fruits, then moves into drier and oakier areas. Bit of a flat, oily feel to it. Quite a distinctive creation, but not up there the best barleywines I’ve tried.

Un nez mentholé frappe l’air ambiant et disperse ses sucres multiples et ses vapeurs d’alcool. Des tanins profonds se cachent derrière le caramel, le beurre d’érable, noix de cajou et abricots séchés. Douce et longue amertume,

bierkoning (13352) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - NOV 17, 2014
Bottle. Amber color. Malty vinous aroma. Malty sweetish, vinous flavor with whisky notes. Mellow caramelly. The alcohol is well hidden. Lacks some balance but otherwise a very good beer.

caesar (7153) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - NOV 16, 2014
Bottle @ ZZT X afterparty at joes. Slight hazy amber to copper color, short head. Aroma of caramel malt, slight fruity notes, bit raisin, slight alcohol. Bit sweet in taste, slight alcohol. Pretty straightforward. Decent beer.

Bottle shared thanks to joes. Pours murky golden with an off white head. Aroma of overripe dark fruit, caramel, and fruity hops. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

teorn88 (7682) - Rimini, ITALY - NOV 6, 2014
Backlog rating. Tap at CBC Clerkenwell, Maiden launch. It pours a deep murky orange color with a large off-white head. Aroma is extremely intense, sweet, bold and complex, with notes of ripe tropical fruit salad, toffee, port wine, alcohol, fig and dates. Taste is again very sweet with big juicy hops, with notes of tropical fruits, banana, toffee, wood, caramel, dried fruit, red berries and cognac. Full bodied with sticky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Overall, punched a truck-load of flavour, but is clearly very sweet and a sipper.

Ok. Good six months on this now.

Quite a bright, of murky amber. Juicy prune, little cinnamon and five spice and creme brulee. Soft pear, brassy middle and a soft balmy mouthfeel. Light buzz of dark berries. Smooth and keen. Finishes without even a nod towards the ABV. linger is warming copper, squeaky and still resonatingly keen. Bottle, Cornelius.
