Backlog bottle. Raynville super-duper store.DwarfeD (3539) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - JUN 14, 2017
Slifhtky cloudy, firm copper golden and stern white cap. Nose is hungry hops, light red berry and big damp grass. Initial taste is dry, cereal and oaty melon. Sleek carbonation, creamy and lean. Oats without being oaty, some eggy breadiness (not eggy bread that would be French Toast) and quite a boney bitterness on the finish. Linger is swift and steely, slight sweetness.
33cl bottle shared with friends. Pale golden with a medium white head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice bitterness with subtle fruity sweetness. Caramel, citrus, malts and pine. Quite tasty for its low ABV. Benzai (16999) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAY 3, 2017
Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. Hazy orange color, medium to full sized white head that lasts for quite a long time. Aroma is malts, hops, a bit farty initially, but the hop and bitter hops come through not long after. Taste malts, hops, grapefruit, bitter, hop bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Aroma isn’t great but flavor is definitely solid. erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAR 30, 2017
Think this is vol 4... At least the hops natch up. Confusing letters though. Anyway, golden but a bit grey murky. Lovely passion fruit hops but a touch lighter maybe than expected. Taste is more accentuated and true, hoppy, clean yet still some warmth to make a body. Drinkable low carbonation. Yummy! Gold, persistent loose head. Super fruity aroma, marmalade. Taste is full of malts, but the fruity hops are there too, very nice. I get some oregano in the finish. Has great balance, lovely characterful golden ale.
Tap. Aroma grapefruit and grass. Pours golden, bubbly top. Taste fruity with a definite resinous quality on the palate. Refreshing and good if a little predictble in this style. Leighton (23092) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2017
Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. As Vol V. Pours clear gold with a slim, white cream head. The aroma has light pine, melon, crackers. Light sweet flavour with more piney hops, some orange rind, a little grass, more crackery pale malts, lightly caramelised sugars. Light bodied with soft carbonation; the condition could be better. A little resinous in the finish, with ripening citrus, melon, mild piney and grassy bitterness. So so overall. The_Osprey (9912) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2017
Cask at Draft House Hammersmith as Siren Proteus - Vol.4 Apollo, Bravo, Simcoe 4%. Pale golden, still and clear with a small foamy white head. Aroma is honey and lemongrass. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is grassy, jelly babies, breathy straw and floral bitterness. A great cask session ale. Lovely gummy fruit sweets with an offsetting bitterness.
