Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Nose is a little dusty floral with quite some alcohol showing. Rich, sweet body. Some overripe plum notes, sweet rot. Loads of bittering hops in the finish. Simple and boozy. 201217 Idiosynkrasie (8338) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - OCT 9, 2017

Keg, 6DN. Pours pale golden and hazy with a thin white foam. Scent is fairly standard notes of Belgian Strong ale with notes of farmhouse/saison scents and slightly grassy. Taste is lovely caramelized sugar on a classic style of Belgian ale. Smooth. Crisp. Finish is dry. Great.

Tasted this at Six Degrees North, Glasgow on the 25th November 2016. Keg dispense. Slight opaque amber in colour with a thin white head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of date fruit, spun candy and warm yeasty bread. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Warming pale malt base delivers a shortbread base with spoonful’s of golden syrup and barley sugar twist vie in the mouth. Green hops deliver a measured dusty floral note to the balanced bitter aftertaste but not in the same league as the tropical fruit explosion of Motueka Tripel. Finish is malty with sweet notes of candied fruit, dates, golden syrup still present along with a warming alcohol burr. A decent effort on a Belgian Tripel. rodsquad (408) - Aberdeen, SCOTLAND - DEC 8, 2016
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2017 Bottle from Oddbins Rosemount. It’s clear light amber with a foamy white head. Refreshing bubbles in the glass. Fantastic aromas of orange sherbet, spice, candy floss, dry grain and caramel cola. Taste is more in keeping with the abv than the aromas with a brief caramel sweetness and light citrus giving way to a spice and bittering alcohol vapour that finishes warming the chest. It has a soft mouthfeel and semi dry sparkle that feels unexpectedly gentle for a tripel. It’s a beautifully fragrant beer albeit with a fair auld spicy clout. nihtila (4047) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 29, 2016
