Tap. Pours clear mahogany, small beige head, some lacing. Aroma is nutty, PB, cocoa. Socks is medium plus sweet, light body, huge nuts and cocoa. Medium body. Decent, if a bit gimmicky.

Sweet smell and taste is almost more like a brown that a porter, at least a robust one. But the macadamia flavor and nose is done well and it’s an enjoyable brew, start to finish.

Very attractive smell; sweet to the taste, but not all of the nutty smell comes through. Dark stout-like appearance, quite good.

ARH (1134) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 14, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2016 On tap, poured into a nonic glass. Comforting aromas of warm, roasted nuts and cookies hit the nose. There’s also notes of light chocolate malts and vanilla. It pours a dark, rich, nearly opaque cola color with a tan, microbubble head. The beer leaves a runny lace with only a medium web lace sticking. A medium ring and light dusty surface is retained. The taste is a medium / medium high sweet. The texture is slick and oily with a light fuzzy carbonation and a medium light body. Roasted macadamia nuts, vanilla, and caramel finish the beer and a fresh Clcookie aftertaste lingers lightly with some burnt grains - but it doesn’t linget long.
